Job summary

VA Puget Sound Health Care System invites applications for a Senior Physician leader in Outpatient Mental Health (OMH) at the American Lake division in Tacoma, WA. The role requires board-certified psychiatry with extensive clinical leadership and program management responsibilities.

You will direct clinical operations, supervise a diverse team, and ensure high-quality mental health services for Veterans while advancing program development and research collaborations.

Qualifications

• United States citizenship or eligible per VA policy
• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent in allopathic/osteopathic medicine
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in a US state or territory
• Residency training approved by ACGME/AOA or equivalent
• Board certification in Psychiatry with active status
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and clinical care for Veterans.
• Lead and oversee the Outpatient Mental Health service line as Director OMH.
• Manage a large multidisciplinary team and program operations.
• Oversee policy development, implementation, and program evaluation.
• Support recruitment, incentives, and education programs for staff.
