Job summary

INPO External in the United States seeks an experienced instructional designer to lead development and management of leadership training programs, collaborating with senior leaders and SMEs to deliver high-quality courseware and curricula.

The role emphasizes needs analysis, curriculum design, change management, and performance evaluation across multiple programs, with focus on strategic impact and industry standards compliance. Mentoring of teams is also expected.

Qualifications

  • Six or more years of professional work experience.
  • Four or more years as an instructional designer, instructional technologist, leadership trainer or equivalent.
  • Preference for ATD, ISPI, or other professional certification.
  • Two or more years nuclear plant experience.
  • Project management experience and certification.

Responsibilities

  • Sets the strategic direction for development and execution of new programs, products, processes, procedures, strategies and objectives.
  • Lead and manage leadership training including needs analysis, curriculum development, course design and evaluation across stakeholders.
  • Revise leadership instructional strategies for varying levels of leadership in the nuclear industry.
  • Build comprehensive leadership development solutions and comprehensive courseware.
  • Prepare instructional materials and courseware (e.g., design documents, instructor materials, participant materials, storyboards, templates).
  • Lead design and development of curricula and courseware for industry-wide training using diverse learning interventions.
  • Lead concurrent projects to design, develop and implement training.
  • Develop and execute change management plans for industry training.
  • Interface with stakeholders to identify training needs and develop solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary of Purpose

Leads and coordinates the development, management, and improvement of multiple programs, processes, and procedures important to the mission and strategy of the organization.⯠Develops high-quality work products, completes assigned tasks, and communicates cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders. Develops a deep knowledge of programs and processes related to their assigned specialty area.

Essential Functions
  • Sets the standardand providesstrategic direction and leadershipforthe development and execution ofnew programs, products, process improvements, procedures,strategiesand objectives
  • Responsible for all phases of leadership and industry training including needs analysis, curriculum development, course design and development, implementation, and evaluation ranging from Boards of Directors to individual contributors.
  • Revise leadership instructional strategies for various levels of leadership in the nuclear industry.
  • Build comprehensive leadership development solutions.
  • Prepare comprehensive instructional materials and courseware (e.g.instructional design documents, instructor materials, participant materials, storyboards, templates, models, prototypes, style guides, case studies, simulations, learning modules, video scripts, webinars, social media materials, etc.).
  • Lead the design and development of quality learning curricula, courses and courseware for industry-wide training using the full spectrum of learning interventions, methods, and systems that can be used for addressing leadership development learning needs.
  • Lead concurrent projects to design, develop and implement training
  • Develop and execute change management plans for industry training.
  • Interface with a broad spectrum of personnel from senior leadership to subject matter experts (SMEs)in order toidentifytraining needs and develop training solutions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Ability toproficientlyexecute the Systematic Approach to Training process to create new learning deliverables or revise existing ones
  • Ability to develop supporting documentation for each phase of the ADDIE process
  • Demonstrates extensiveexpertknowledge of relevant specialty area, leading initiatives, mentoring team members, and driving innovation and strategic improvements within the organization
  • Ability to convey complex ideas and project strategies in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders, projectteamsand senior leadership
  • Ability to lead diverse teams to achieve common goals, while mentoring team members
  • Demonstrates advanced planning, organizational, and time management skills, leading multiple projects within the program, guiding all stakeholders, and driving strategic initiatives to achieve organizational goals
  • Advanced ability to analyze data, trends, and complex problems to make informed decisions within relevant specialty area

Education, Licenses, and Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
Preferred
  • Bachelor's or master's degree, orcommensurateexperience, in Instructional Design or Instructional Technology or related field
  • Experience independently designing and developing training in various formats such as eLearning, videos, instructor- led training, and simulations
  • Experience independently revising and developing new training material by using the systematic approach to training, conducting detailed analysis, working with stakeholders, and performing effectiveness evaluations of training
  • Relevant ATD, ISPI, or other professional association certification
Experience
  • Six or more years of professional work experience
  • Four ormore years of experience as an instructional designer, instructional technologist, leadership trainer or equivalent
Preferred
  • Sevenor more years of experience as an instructional designer, instructional technologist, leadership trainer or equivalent
  • Experience designing, developing, or revising leadership or communication training

  • Project management experience and certification
