Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Program Manager to lead fleet expansion initiatives for its last-mile delivery network in Austin and across regions.

This role requires a strategic operator who can own end-to-end expansion programs from concept through execution, balancing innovation with operational excellence. You will develop expansion strategies, manage pilot programs, build partnerships with external vendors, and coordinate across multiple internal teams to deliver vehicles and infrastructure that meet growing delivery demand. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to drive results in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Key job responsibilities
Fleet Expansion Strategy & Execution
  • Own expansion strategy and execution for assigned fleet segments, including vehicle selection, vendor partnerships, and operational readiness
  • Develop multi-year expansion roadmaps that align with business growth projections and strategic priorities

Ecosystem Development
  • Identify infrastructure gaps that prevent fleet scaling and develop solutions to address them
  • Build processes, systems, and tools that enable efficient fleet operations
  • Partner with technology teams to automate manual processes and improve data visibility
  • Establish standards and best practices that can scale across regions and vehicle types
Stakeholder Communication
  • Ensure leadership visibility into program status, risks, and opportunities through regular updates and business reviews
  • Present business cases and recommendations to senior leadership for decision-making
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and align cross-functional teams on priorities
  • Document program details and decisions for organizational knowledge sharing
A day in the life

Your day will be a dynamic blend of strategic planning, pilot program management, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll analyze expansion performance data, build business cases for new vehicle types or markets, and partner with operations and procurement teams to solve complex scaling challenges. From building a cohesive fleet strategy and evaluating pilot results to developing fleet ecosystem solutions that enable growth, you'll be the critical link ensuring Amazon's fleet expands efficiently to meet customer demand while advancing sustainability goals.

The Fleet Expansion team enables Amazon's last-mile delivery network to scale by developing vehicle strategies, managing pilots, and building fleet ecosystems. We work at the intersection of supply chain, operations, and innovation, partnering with internal teams and external vendors to improve customer experience, reduce costs, and advance sustainability. Our team operates with high autonomy, thinks big about delivery's future, and delivers results in ambiguous environments. Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • 5+ years of supply chain management (e.g. logistics, inventory turn management, forecasting, operations) experience, or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience building and scaling operational mechanisms (WBRs, dashboards, escalation frameworks)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in fleet management, transportation, or last-mile logistics specifically
  • Experience with capacity planning models or demand forecasting
  • MBA or Master's degree in supply chain, operations research, or related quantitative field
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority in a matrixed organization
  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (QuickSight, Tableau)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
