Job summary

Mercer Engineering Research Center in Warner Robins, GA is seeking a Senior Program Manager to oversee externally funded, multi-year programs, reporting to the Technical Director. You will collaborate with senior engineering leadership to plan, staff, and manage contracts, maintaining schedules and ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery.

This role requires DoD security clearance eligibility, a relevant ABET-accredited engineering degree or business degree with extensive experience, PMP

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, staff, and manage assigned programs per MERC Standard Processes and schedules.
• Ensure execution within budget and scope according to contract schedule.
• Provide programmatic and technical reviews to management stakeholders.
• Assist capture manager with development of new business proposals.
• Encourage follow-on and tangential opportunities to leadership.
• Protect MERC information and IP from unauthorized disclosure.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Program Manager who will be responsible for managing several of MERC's externally funded multi-year, multi-million-dollar programs. This position reports to the assigned Technical Director.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Sr. Director of Engineering and Programs, Technical Directors, Chief Engineers, and Technical Leads to plan, staff, and manage assigned programs according to and in compliance with MERC Standard Processes, to include maintaining an up-to‑date detailed programmatic/technical schedule for an assigned program throughout the life of the contract.
• Work with the Chief Engineer and Technical Lead to ensure the successful execution of assigned contracts within budget and scope and in accordance with contract schedule.
• In concert with the Chief Engineer and Technical Lead, provide programmatic and technical reviews of assigned contracts to all management stakeholders.
• Assist responsible capture manager with development of new business proposal response as needed.
• Encourage assigned contract personnel to recommend potential program follow-on and/or tangential future business opportunities and provide those recommendations to the Technical Director and the Director of Acquisition Strategy.
• Protect MERC competition-sensitive, proprietary information and intellectual property from those without a need-to-know.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
• An undergraduate degree in a business-related field and 10 years of directly related experience or an engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university and 7 years directly related experience.
• A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
