Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead performance and execution for large customer subsystems or payloads. You will be the primary contact for customer reviews and will coordinate with multiple functions to ensure objectives are met.

The role requires extensive aerospace program management experience, strong communication, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. DoD/Space customers experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of Program Management or Subcontract Management experience.
  • BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience in aerospace as a system or design engineer.
  • Develop and coordinate program requirements across product lines and with multiple subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with RF, communication, or satellite systems.
  • Experience managing cross functional and decentralized teams.
  • CAM, EVMS, and risk-based assessment experience.
  • Experience developing work breakdown structures, cost and staffing plans, and integrated master schedules.
  • Experience managing programs with dynamic and multi-project interdependencies.
  • Return-To-Green experience on one or more programs.
  • Experience in NRE development programs.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with government/military customers, especially Space Force/Space Systems Command.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee program performance and day-to-day execution for a large subsystem or a small to medium sized payload.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for customer interactions including program management reviews, customer bi-weekly reviews, and major program reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with all functional organizations to ensure program success using data-driven decisions.
  • Establish program baselines (integrated master plans and resource loaded schedules) and monitor progress to generate revised estimates.
  • Provide inputs to customers, CesiumAstro leadership, and internal finance teams for revenue recognition.
  • Assist the Director of Programs in improving standard processes and mentoring program staff.

In this position, you will be responsible for program performance and day‑to‑day execution for a large customer subsystem or a small to medium sized payload, including concept development, implementation, production, modification, integration and test, and delivery. You will be the single point of contact for customer interactions including program management reviews, customer bi‑weekly reviews, and major program reviews. This position is expected to be able to manage multiple customers.

This position works collaboratively with all functional organizations at CesiumAstro to ensure the success of the program using risk‑based decision making in guiding decisions to meet program objectives. A successful candidate understands how to effectively use program and engineering metrics to make data driven decisions. You will serve as the primary program leader for all activities, with responsibilities for cost, schedule, and adherence to technical performance requirements.

The Senior Program Manager will establish program management baselines (integrated master plans and resource loaded schedules) to task the team, measures program performance, and monitors progress to generate latest revised estimates and estimates to completion. The Senior Program Manager will provide these inputs to customers, CesiumAstro leadership, and internal finance teams for revenue recognition.

This position will assist the Director of Programs in improving standard processes, and implementing best practices for consistency across the Space Systems portfolio of programs. As a senior member of the program team, you may help in hiring and mentorship of program staff.

Job Requirements And Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 12 years Program Management or Subcontract Management Experience.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in a relevant engineering field (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, etc.) from an accredited university or institution.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry as a system or design engineer.
  • Develop and coordinate program requirements across product lines and with multiple subcontractors
  • Familiarity with RF, communication, or satellite systems.
  • Experience managing cross functional and decentralized teams.
  • Relevant CAM, risk management, EVMS, and risk based assessment experience.
  • Experience developing work break down structures, cost and staffing plans, and integrated master schedules.
  • Experience managing programs with dynamic and multi-project interdependencies.
  • Return-To-Green experience on one or more programs.
  • Experience in NRE development programs.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

$184,000 - $225,000 a year
