Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Northern California VA Health Care System, seeks a Supervisory Social Worker (Program Coordinator) to lead Education and Training, Quality Management, and Clinical Competency initiatives within Social Work Service.

The role requires independent management of complex programs and adherence to VA policies and mission. The incumbent will supervise staff, coordinate budgets, and collaborate with internal and external partners to advance patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work (CSWE-accredited).
• Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at MSW level.
• English language proficiency required for spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the Social Work Service Education and Training, Quality Management, Clinical Competency and Internship programs.
• Develop and implement local policies and guidelines for the programs as prescribed by handbooks and directives.
• Organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and evaluate program areas.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance program goals and patient-centered care.
• Provide the full range of supervisory duties: assignments, evaluations, staff development, and disciplinary actions when needed.
• Oversee fiscal matters: budget, contracts, and equipment expenditures; forecast resources and needs.
