Essential Duties And Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

• Plans, directs, and coordinates the work of survey staff in surveying earth's surface and preparing maps, legal descriptions, exhibits, and reports of land
• Act as City/County Surveyor for counties and cities throughout California's Central Valley and Sierra regions, and beyond
• Subordination and subdivision and parcel map checking
• Lot Line Adjustment document checking
• Lot Merger document checking
• Easement and Right-of-Way Acquisition and Vacation document checking
• Preparation of easement and right-of-way legal descriptions and plats
• Responds to questions and recommends appropriate administration of the Subdivision Map Act and Professional Land Surveyor's Act
• Coordinates subconsultant field and office survey work
• Works with various divisions (engineers and architects) within Willdan to provide necessary services, such as boundary and topo, aerial photogrammetry, preparation of legal descriptions and plat maps, coordination of appraisal and acquisition services
• Provides legal work for law firms, title companies, and cities in the review of defective title, reformation of deeds, expert witness
• Provides technical guidance and support to surveying staff
• Monitors project budgets and timelines to ensure efficiency and profitability
• Ensures the quality and accuracy of survey data and deliverables
• Oversees office survey staff and monitors employee development

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience
• Active California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
• At least 10 years of progressive professional land surveying experience
• Extensive background in subdivision mapping (major and minor) and subdivision processes
• Demonstrated experience with preparation and review of legal descriptions, lot line adjustments and lot mergers, right-of-way engineering, easements, Records of Survey, and Corner Records
• Prior experience serving as a city or County Surveyor is strongly preferred
