Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Senior Professional Industrial Water Engineer focused on mining in Denver, CO, with hybrid work options. This role will support the full water cycle from supply to reuse, treatment and discharge, collaborating with a team of leading experts on mining projects across the project lifecycle.

Required are 8+ years in consulting, PE licensure, and strong regulatory, leadership and client-development capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; PE licensure required.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in consulting (10+ preferred).
  • Experience in industrial and municipal water projects (supply, treatment, reuse).
  • Experience in mining projects.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to develop and manage clients and grow a practice.
  • Strong leadership and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and travel as needed.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a personal business plan to expand services and revenue with clients.
  • Serve as Client Account Manager on key water market accounts and supporting Mining HGA CDI program.
  • Lead participation in professional societies and meetings to increase firm visibility.
  • Oversee project management, budgeting, scheduling, quality, health and safety compliance, profitability.
  • Recruit, mentor and manage junior staff and engineers.
  • Review and lead preparation of technical documents, drawings, specifications and proposals.
  • Prepare for and participate in client, regulator and other meetings.
  • Perform fieldwork, contractor oversight and field troubleshooting tasks.
  • Drive personal and company vehicles to client sites and other locations.

Senior Professional Industrial Water Engineer, Mining

Primary Location: Denver, Colorado

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to grow our water and wastewater engineering practices. The Senior Professional Industrial Water Engineer will be based in our Denver, Colorado office with the opportunity for hybrid work. This role involves working with leading experts on mining projects throughout the project lifecycle, from initial exploration to closure, supporting the entire water cycle from supply to reuse, treatment and discharge. Opportunities also exist in other industrial client sectors.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this client‑facing position include:

  • Implementation of a personal business development plan to expand services and revenue with new and existing clients.
  • Serve in the capacity of a Client Account Manager on critical water market accounts and support Mining HGA's CDI program.
  • Active participation in professional societies, conferences and meetings that increase the firm's visibility to potential clients and recruits.
  • Project management and oversight of technical issues, budgeting, scheduling, quality, health, safety protocols, client satisfaction and profitability.
  • Recruiting, managing and mentoring junior staff and mid‑career engineers and scientists.
  • Reviewing and leading the preparation of technical documents, drawings, specifications and proposals.
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel and other parties.
  • Fieldwork, contractor oversight and process troubleshooting tasks as needed.
  • Drive personal, company and rental vehicles to client or project sites and other business locations.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical or environmental preferred). (required)
  • Advanced degree (same as above). (preferred)
  • Professional registration (P.E.). (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 8 years (10+ years preferred) of progressive experience in the consulting industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial and municipal clients with water supply, water treatment and re‑use projects. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience in mining projects. (required)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal and State regulations. (required)
  • Experience managing multi‑disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients and growing a practice that sustains a group of professional junior staff. (required)
  • Excellent leadership and detail‑orientation skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast‑paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring and client‑driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
Compensation and Benefits

The typical base salary range for this position is $123,235/year to $199,555/year (Denver, CO). Compensation is determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
