Job summary

Gotion Inc. seeks a Senior Process Quality Engineer (PQE) to own quality for Battery Pack manufacturing.

You will drive FPY, yield, CP K/PPK, and defect reduction on the production floor, coordinating with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Operations to close corrective actions. The ideal candidate brings hands-on leadership in battery module/pack manufacturing, a strong grasp of IATF 16949/ISO 9001, and experience supporting NPI or ramp-up

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Production or Process Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Direct experience supporting manufacturing operations on the production floor.
• Experience leading manufacturing quality issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001 requirements.
• Experience with Battery Module and Pack manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze production and quality data, including defect rates, return rates, and CP K/PPK indices, among others.
• Identify trends and potential issues and propose preventive measures to reduce risks.
• Organize root cause analysis of quality issues, promote and verify effectiveness of corrective/preventive actions.
• Manage the non-conforming product area on the production line and maintain related ledger.
• Lead rework and repair areas, establish related ledgers and execution instructions.
• Ensure implementation of control plans in the production line with inspection items and standards.
• Guide and train operators on relevant quality processes and standards.
• Regularly inspect processes, identify risks, and propose improvements.
• Oversee inspectors and conduct hierarchical audits based on control plans.
• Develop standard inspection guidelines.
• Maintain records of quality activities, audits, and corrective actions.
• Track best practices and promote factory quality systems and process optimization.

What to Expect

Gotion is seeking a highly motivated Senior Process Quality Engineer (PQE) to serve as the quality owner for Battery Pack manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for driving production quality performance within assigned manufacturing areas by improving FPY, yield, process capability, and defect reduction while supporting stable production execution and ramp-up activities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on production-floor quality leader with direct experience in battery pack or module manufacturing. This individual will proactively identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing quality issues while partnering closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Operations teams to drive corrective actions through closure.

What You’ll Do

• Collect and analyze production and quality data, including defect rates, return rates, and process capability indices (CPK, PPK, CMK), among others.
• Identify trends and potential issues and propose preventive measures to reduce risks.
• Organize root cause analysis of quality issues, promote and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive measures.
• Manage the non-conforming product area on the production line, lead the non-conforming product determination process, establish and maintain a non-conforming product ledger.
• Management of rework and repair areas, establishment of rework and repair area ledger, promotion of process output rework operation instructions and production rework operation execution, and rework testing.
• Confirm the implementation of control plan in the production line, including inspection items, frequency, standards, and corrective action plans.
• Guide and train operators to ensure the implementation of relevant quality processes and standards in the production process.
• Regularly inspect each process of the production line, identify potential risks, and propose improvement measures.
• Manage the work of inspectors and conduct hierarchical audits based on control plans and other standards.
• Develop standard inspection guidelines
• Maintain clear records of all quality activities, including quality reports, audit records, and corrective measures.
• Track industry best practices and quality standards and promotes factory quality systems and process optimization.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on Production Quality or Process Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Direct experience supporting manufacturing operations on the production floor.
• Experience leading manufacturing quality issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience supporting NPI, product launches, pilot builds, or production ramp-up activities.
• Strong understanding of IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001 requirements.
• Strong Preference for candidates with hands-on experience in Battery Module and Pack manufacturing processes.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by factors such as the role, level, and geographic location. Actual compensation within the range will be influenced by the specific work location, along with factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
