Butternut Mountain Farm in Morristown, VT seeks a Production Manager to lead multiple departments, lines, and shifts, aligning schedules, labor, materials, and equipment with customer demand. You will develop frontline leaders, maintain safe operations, and drive cost control and continuous improvement.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, strong leadership across regulated manufacturing, and solid knowledge of SQF/HACCP, ERP/MRP, and Lean concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• Experience in leading multiple departments or shifts in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, traceability and production documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead production across departments, lines, and shifts; adjust schedules and resources to demand, inventory, staffing, materials, and capacity.
• Maintain safety, food safety, quality, sanitation, traceability; support audits and regulatory requirements.
• Establish KPIs for productivity, throughput, labor, downtime, waste, and quality; use data for continuous improvement.
• Optimize inventory, materials, and labor; ensure accuracy and traceability; resolve shortages.
• Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, and downtime with Maintenance; support capital projects.
• Lead supervisors and employees; set expectations; conduct coaching, reviews, and development planning.
• Manage staffing, overtime, absenteeism, labor utilization, and operating expenses; support budgeting and capacity plans.
• Communicate priorities and performance to Operations Management; provide input for new products and process changes.
