Daikin Applied is seeking a Senior Production Manager to direct and optimize production activities in Phoenix, AZ. You will lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, and Engineering to meet schedules and quality targets.

Responsibilities

• Confers with management to set production standards, budgets, and cost controls; gathers product data.
• Plans and directs production activities and priorities to optimize operations and costs.
• Coordinates production with Sales, Purchasing, and maintenance to maximize utilization of people, machines, and equipment.
• Reviews production, quality control, maintenance, and operation reports to identify causes of nonconformity.
• Reviews headcount reports and reassigns staff to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
• Resolves manufacturing issues to minimize costs and prevent delays; revises schedules when needed.
• Implements new SOPs with engineering to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and lean practices.
• Collaborates with EH&S on training and safety; leads plant safety committees.
• Works with HR on recruitment, employee relations, training, compensation, and policy interpretation.
• Participates in grievance meetings and, if applicable, union contract negotiations.

In this position, you Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company product(s) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. What you will do:

• Confers with management personnel to establish production standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.

• Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.

• Coordinates production activities with Sales, Production Control, Purchasing, Manufacturing Services, maintenance, and subordinate supervisors to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.

• Creates, reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.

• Creates, reviews and analyzes headcount reports to ensure appropriate staff levels and requests additional staff or realigns/transfers staff as needed.

• Resolves operational manufacturing issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Revises production schedules and priorities when there are equipment failure or operating problems.

• Develops/revises and implements, in conjunction with engineering, new standard operational and work practices and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems, enhance efficiency and lean practices, improve product quality, and improve work place safety. Observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Creates a continuous improvement culture utilizing Lean Manufacturing, 5S principles, Kaizen activity, and employee participation.

• Collaborates with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager regarding training for workers on issues related to health and safety, may facilitate training either personally or through subordinate supervisors. Serves in a leadership role on all plant safety committees.

• Collaborates with the Human Resources Director and Human Resources team on issues related to recruitment and selection, employee relations, training and development, compensation, conflict resolution, motivation, corrective action, policy, contract and employment law interpretation and all employee related strategic decisions.

• Participates in grievance meetings and labor management group meetings to resolve or effect settlement of grievances. May participate in Union contract negotiations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4 Year Bachelor’s Degreein or Equivalent in Business administration, engineering or related field

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,800.00 - $171,700.00 + 15% bonus in Arizona. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
