Responsibilities

• Optimize well productivity and diagnose underperforming wells; propose engineering solutions.
• Design and optimize artificial lift systems (ESP, gas lift, rod pump, jet pump).
• Lead well intervention and production optimization projects.
• Prepare AFEs and engineering economics; track project performance against budget.
• Collaborate with Reservoir Eng., Geology, and Operations on field development planning.
• Manage vendor relationships, RFP processes, and service agreements.
• Monitor LOE and reduce costs while maintaining reliability; support reserve evaluations.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance; evaluate emerging technologies.

Currently supporting a privately-held upstream operator with a strong track record in onshore North American energy development, to find a Senior Production Engineer for their operated Permian Basin assets.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to balance field work with technical analysis - optimizing production and driving economic performance across a high-quality asset base, working closely with Reservoir Engineering, Geology, Operations, and field teams.

What you'll do:

• Optimize well productivity and diagnose underperforming wells, recommending engineering solutions
• Design and optimize artificial lift systems - ESP, gas lift, rod pump, and jet pump
• Lead well intervention and production optimization projects
• Prepare AFEs and engineering economics; track project performance against budget
• Partner with Reservoir Engineering, Geology, and Operations on field development planning
• Manage vendor relationships, RFP processes, and service agreements

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering
• 5+ years of production engineering experience with an upstream operator
• Strong Permian Basin experience (multi-basin experience is a plus)
• Hands-on artificial lift, production surveillance, and well performance analysis
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
