Job summary

KAIROS, Inc in Lexington Park, MD seeks a Senior Production and Quality Engineer to join our team on-site at NAS Patuxent River. This role includes 30% travel to Industry sites and no telework.

You will lead production and quality activities for an early development classified program, evaluate manufacturability, support design reviews, and drive readiness through MRAs and PRRs. Active DoD security clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Master’s Degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
  • In lieu of a Master’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Must have minimum of ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) years of which must be directly related to DoD systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Production & Quality of an early development classified program.
  • Examine suppliers and perform facilities evaluations assessing contractor design, development and manufacturing/quality planning activities, ensuring that production and producibility considerations are integrated into the systems engineering process.
  • Conduct quality research and data analysis to provide support in establishing M&QE requirements and management of M&QE efforts through all acquisition phases, including capacity analysis to examine scalability.
  • Evaluate design producibility, manufacturing planning and proposed or actual production/quality processes considering program affordability needs and with respect to established schedules and production plans.
  • Prepare technical risk assessments for decision meetings and related briefings.
  • Support the M&QE Division and IPT in planning and leading design, manufacturing and quality risk reduction efforts, producibility assessments and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
  • Provide technical support for producibility and manufacturing discussions in design reviews and program/technical meetings and provide design and process oriented technical inputs.
  • Identify the causes of potential or actual manufacturing, producibility, or quality problems and recommend solutions to M&QE and IPT management via briefing or written correspondence.
  • Support the M&QE lead during the conduct of Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Quality System Evaluations (QSEs), Engineering Investigations (EIs), and other M&QE reviews. Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events.
  • Conduct quality research and data analysis to assist M&QE Division leadership in improving M&QE products and capabilities so that they optimally support programs and fleet readiness.

KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Senior ProductionandQualityEngineer, to join our team. This position will be on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD and 30% travel to Industry sites. This work is not eligible for teleworking.

This position will perform research analysis and technical domain engineering support in M&QE for a classified program at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD.

Primary Duties:
  • Provide support for Production & Quality of an early development classified program.

Clearance:

This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation:

While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $148,000 to $164,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.
