Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Sr Product Security R&D Manager to lead a global team responsible for Product Security, Privacy, and OS in connected medical devices. The role emphasizes strategic direction from development through regulatory submission and post-market support, partnering with stakeholders across Legal, Regulatory, and Quality to ensure compliance and robust security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of technical experience; 5+ years leading and developing technical teams.
• Proven track record leading product security programs for medical devices or regulated products.
• Knowledge of FDA Premarket and Postmarket guidance, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and risk frameworks.
• Strong background in threat modeling, SBOMs, vulnerability management, OS hardening, and patching.
• Ability to communicate risk-based decisions to executives, regulators, and customers.
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set multi-year Product Security, Privacy, and OS strategy and roadmap.
• Own cybersecurity content in regulatory submissions (e.g., 510(k)).
• Own vulnerability management program and risk decisions.
• Manage secure baseline OS and patching across fielded products.
• Collaborate with Privacy, Legal, Regulatory on launches.
• Represent the function with regulators, auditors, and customers.
• Build and lead a global team of engineers and partners.
• Oversee budgets, vendors, and governance with KPIs and dashboards.
• Foster security-first culture across R&D and cross-functional teams.
