Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer / Product Owner to support a government customer focused on modernizing mission-critical air traffic management systems. The role serves as the Product Owner for an Agile development team, managing product backlogs, translating complex requirements, and supporting cloud-based software development.

The position is hybrid with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote in Gaithersburg, MD; Eagan, MN; or Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a Master's degree; equivalent experience considered.
• Hands-on experience as an Agile Product Owner managing backlogs, stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies, PI Planning, and cross-functional development teams.
• Experience translating complex requirements into actionable software deliverables.
• Background in systems engineering, software development, scripting, or cloud-based design.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the Agile Product Owner, prioritizing backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Translate requirements into actionable Agile features and testable stories.
• Lead backlog refinement, PI Planning, sprint planning, and ART coordination.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, architects, and DevSecOps teams.
• Maintain requirements traceability, documentation, and verification for compliance.
• Support design and implementation of cloud-based, microservices-driven software solutions.
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies, milestones, testing, and release readiness.
• Engage customers to define operational requirements and drive continuous improvement.
