This role owns the full product lifecycle, from roadmap and delivery through vendor management, implementation, support, performance, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate combines product leadership, technical fluency, business insight, and customer empathy. This individual must be comfortable managing multiple products simultaneously, leading cross-functional teams, resolving high-impact issues, and using data to improve customer experience and business results. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time for client site visits, product deployments, pilot launches, operational reviews, vendor meetings, stakeholder workshops, industry events, and field research activities.

Job Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Define and maintain the vision, strategy, roadmap, and prioritized backlog for multiple products and platforms.
  • Balance customer needs, business objectives, technical constraints, resources, timelines, budgets, and risk across the product portfolio.
  • Gather and prioritize opportunities, requirements, user feedback, operational needs, and market insights to maximize business value.
  • Lead products through iterative discovery, design, development, launch, adoption, optimization, and retirement.

Product Performance & Accountability

  • Own the overall performance and success of assigned products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for adoption, engagement, reliability, transaction volume, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Use product data, customer feedback, and operational insights to identify performance gaps and drive measurable improvement plans.
  • Communicate product health, risks, opportunities, priorities, and results to business and technology leaders.

Vendor & Integration Management

  • Serve as the primary business owner and point of contact for product vendors and technology partners.
  • Manage vendor relationships, roadmaps, contractual commitments, service expectations, performance, escalations, and delivery accountability.
  • Lead the evaluation, onboarding, and governance of third-party solutions and oversee integrations with POS, payments, loyalty, identity, inventory, fulfillment, and other connected systems.
  • Coordinate internal and external teams to meet business, technical, security, compliance, deployment, and support requirements.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead collaboration across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Information Security, Operations, Deployment, Support, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Procurement, clients, and vendor teams.
  • Build alignment and drive decisions across diverse stakeholder groups, including teams with competing priorities and dependencies.
  • Contribute to sprint and release planning, testing, implementation, and retrospectives while ensuring solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.

  • Lead cross-functional resolution of critical incidents, service disruptions, defects, and high-impact operational challenges, including timely stakeholder communication.
  • Track product and project risks, issues, dependencies, mitigation plans, and decisions through resolution.
  • Guide products through security, architecture, procurement, compliance, and other governance reviews, engaging vendors and subject matter experts as needed.
  • Serve as the product subject matter expert and support client reviews, product evaluations, RFP responses, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, project management, or a related technology leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success managing and delivering multiple products, platforms, or technology solutions simultaneously in a mid-sized or large organization.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, third-party integrations, client expectations, product deliverables, and operational support models.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery, product lifecycle management, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, and communicate effectively with business and technical audiences.
