Overview
KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, is seeking a Senior Product Manager – Data Platform to lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for an emerging portfolio of API-first, cloud-native data platform technologies.
- The platform supports telemetry data ingestion, entity and track management, data retrieval and delivery, and domain awareness capabilities through a user-centered interface. Initially developed for space and satellite applications, the technology has the potential to expand into additional defense, aerospace, commercial, and industrial markets.
- This position will play a critical role in transforming R&D-funded concepts and proof-of-concept technologies into clearly defined minimum viable products (MVPs) and commercially viable offerings. The Product Manager will identify target markets, validate product-market fit, define product priorities, and guide emerging capabilities from early development through launch and ongoing evolution.
- The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of taking technical or B2B products from concept through successful launch, particularly in environments where product requirements, target users, and market opportunities are not yet fully defined.
- This is a highly collaborative leadership position requiring the ability to influence without direct authority, build consensus across technical and business teams, and translate complex ideas into a unified product direction.
- The Product Manager will work closely with Engineering, Human-Machine Interface (HMI)/UX, Project Management, Sales, and Business Development leaders, serving as the primary connection between market needs and product strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Product Vision, Market Fit & Go-to-Market
- Own and continuously refine the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for an emerging portfolio of telemetry and data platform technologies.
- Evaluate R&D-funded concepts and early-stage capabilities to identify viable products, define MVPs, validate product-market fit, and guide development toward commercial or operational adoption.
- Partner closely with Sales and Business Development to understand customer needs, active opportunities, competitive positioning, and market demand across space, defense, aerospace, commercial, and industrial applications.
- Identify and prioritize target customers, users, and market domains, including determining where existing platform capabilities can address adjacent industry needs.
- Define the standardized, domain-agnostic core of the platform, including data ingestion, entity and track management, data retrieval, packaging, and user-facing capabilities, while distinguishing domain-specific requirements.
- Develop product business cases, value propositions, positioning, and go-to-market strategies, including pricing, packaging, and licensing considerations as products mature.
- Lead or support product briefings, demonstrations, and customer discussions, incorporating market and user feedback into ongoing product decisions.
Cross-Functional Product Leadership
- Establish and communicate clear product priorities, aligning Sales, Business Development, Engineering, HMI/UX, Project Management, and other stakeholders around a shared vision.
- Lead through collaboration and influence, building team engagement and buy-in while balancing business objectives, technical constraints, and user needs.
- Work as a trusted peer with the Engineering Technical Lead, who owns technical architecture and implementation strategy, and the HMI Lead, who owns user research, interface design, and detailed functional specifications.
- Translate market research, customer needs, and business priorities into actionable product requirements, user stories, and development priorities without independently dictating engineering architecture or interface design.
- Facilitate productive discussions, resolve competing priorities, and guide teams toward decisions in ambiguous or rapidly evolving product environments.
- Collaborate with Project Managers responsible for funded R&D milestones, contractual deliverables, project schedules, budgets, and sponsor coordination.
Product Management & Execution
- Maintain and communicate product roadmaps, requirement briefs, business priorities, target user populations, and measurable success criteria.
- Use structured prioritization methods, such as RICE scoring, to balance market opportunities, customer commitments, engineering capacity, and business value.
- Maintain product roadmaps and backlog artifacts using Jira, Confluence, or similar product management tools.
- Lead product planning discussions, roadmap reviews, demonstrations, and cross-functional alignment activities.
- Guide products through the development lifecycle, from early research and proof of concept through MVP definition, launch, customer adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in field testing, demonstrations, and customer evaluations to validate capabilities and incorporate feedback into product priorities.
- Establish and monitor product success metrics, using customer feedback and market performance to guide future investment decisions.
- Develop and maintain a working understanding of telemetry and sensor data platforms, space domain awareness, and related mission-critical technologies.
- Evaluate opportunities to extend existing platform capabilities into additional markets, identifying reusable technology components and industry-specific requirements.
- Support the evolution of the product portfolio into adjacent data domains and potentially AI/ML-enabled capabilities.
- Stay current on competitive developments, customer requirements, emerging technologies, and market trends that may influence product strategy.

- Proven experience in technical product management, B2B software, data platforms, industrial technology, or other complex technology-driven products.
- Demonstrated success taking a product from concept or early-stage development through launch, with the ability to discuss measurable outcomes and post-launch results.
- Experience defining MVPs, evaluating product-market fit, developing product roadmaps, and establishing priorities in environments with evolving requirements.
- Demonstrated success partnering with Sales, Business Development, customers, and technical stakeholders to shape product direction.
- Strong ability to work through ambiguity, identify business opportunities, establish structure, and translate emerging concepts into actionable product strategies.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build consensus and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Experience leading technical and user discussions with customers, operational stakeholders, or government-related organizations.
- Ability to balance competing business, technical, and user-experience perspectives while maintaining a cohesive product vision.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues, contribute to team development, and improve product management practices.
