Job summary

Grata is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Data, to advance data initiatives across the private markets platform. You will collaborate with engineering and data science to deliver high-quality datasets, ensure data accuracy, freshness, and availability, and drive customer value through data-driven roadmaps.

You will partner with commercial teams, conduct user research, and translate complex data concepts into actionable requirements while navigating a fast-paced startup-like environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience developing a strategic vision and product roadmap for data initiatives.
• Experience partnering across all levels of an organization to influence work.
• Experience in startup or high-ambiguity environment with complex stakeholders.
• Comfortable working with data to inform decisions, SQL proficiency; Python/R a plus.
• Knowledge of data warehouses and ETL/ELT pipelines and governance.
• Familiarity with modern data stack tools and how they shape feasible products.
• Interest in an office-centric culture with a flexible work environment.

Grata is the leading private market dealmaking platform. We make it easy to find, research, and engage with private companies. Our platform has the most comprehensive, accurate, and searchable proprietary data on private companies, their financials, and their owners. We're looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager, Data, to drive forward Grata's data initiatives, from expanding the scope of private companies in our system to introducing new datasets to our customer base to upholding our high data quality standards. In this role, you will strategize, implement, and optimize data accuracy, availability and freshness to enhance customer workflows and expand our product's capabilities. As our Senior Product Manager, Data, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deeply understand customer needs, prioritize impactful features, and work closely with engineering and data scientists to deliver high-quality datasets. You will play a crucial role in ensuring Grata's data adheres to Grata's data quality standards, maintain reliability, and scale effectively with the evolving needs of our growing business.

At Grata, we will expect you to:

• Build a deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and behaviors by partnering with commercial teams and conducting user research and data analysis
• Develop strategic roadmaps with clear milestones and measurable metrics to achieve ambitious goals and track progress effectively
• Work across machine learning, data scientists, design, engineering, QA, and product marketing to define and ship the roadmap
• Prioritize initiatives ruthlessly using a data-driven approach to maximize impact and deliver customer value
• Craft detailed requirements informed by customer conversations, usage data analysis, and iterative feedback from design and engineering teams
• Establish yourself as the go-to expert and trusted leader for the product area, building credibility through ownership and results
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders, distilling complex ideas into clear insights that drive alignment across the organization

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years of product management experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Experience developing a strategic vision and product roadmap for data initiatives
• Can partner and influence effectively across all levels of an organization, and regularly use these skills to improve the work going on around you
• Experience in a prior startup or high-ambiguity environment; a track record of managing ambiguity and complexity affecting many stakeholders in an organized and structured way
• Comfortable working hands-on with data to inform product decisions - able to write SQL and analyze datasets (familiarity with Python or R a plus)
• Working knowledge of how data is structured and moved - data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data governance - enough to partner credibly with engineering and data science
• Familiarity with modern data stack tools (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Airflow, dbt) and how they shape what's feasible for the product
• Ability to translate complex data concepts into clear product requirements and roadmaps that scale with the business
• Interested in an office-centric culture with a flexible work environment

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position based on a good faith assessment of the role and market data at the time of posting. Consistent with applicable law, each candidate's compensation offer may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, your geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience along with the requirements of the position. This position may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or overtime if applicable.
