Description
About Itential

Itential is the agentic operations platform for infrastructure. Enterprises use it to build, integrate, execute, govern, and operate the AI agents and workflows that take real action on production systems, all under one governance model. Itential is trusted by global carriers, leading financial institutions, and U.S. federal agencies to run mission‑critical infrastructure operations at scale.

About the Role

Help shape how enterprises run and govern infrastructure automation. At Itential, you’ll own the product direction for the execution engine and supporting capabilities that help enterprise customers run automations, manage configurations and inventory, and connect to third‑party systems. Your decisions will shape how those capabilities work together and how customers use them across on‑premises and cloud environments.

Why This Role
  • Own consequential product decisions. Set direction for capabilities at the core of Itential’s automation platform, balancing customer needs, business value, and engineering investment.
  • Solve technical problems with engineering. Work through questions about execution behavior, integrations, authentication, versioning, and upgrades, and turn those insights into a better customer experience.
  • Stay close to customers. Learn directly from enterprise teams, including those in regulated industries, and use that understanding to guide product priorities.
  • Shape practical applications of AI. Help determine where agent‑based capabilities can improve automation and configuration workflows.
What You Will Do

Your portfolio includes Gateway 5, Itential’s execution engine; Gateway 4; Gateway Manager; Configuration Manager Enterprise; Inventory Manager; and Integrations. As Senior Product Manager, you will own strategy and delivery across this portfolio. This includes:

  • Set product strategy and roadmap priorities, using customer evidence, business impact, and technical constraints to guide investment.
  • Partner with the Automation engineering manager and team to take opportunities from discovery and definition through release.
  • Turn ambiguous customer needs and complex technical questions into clear product decisions and testable requirements.
  • Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their environments, evaluate requests, and address escalations.
  • Define packaging and tiering across on‑premises and Itential Cloud offerings.
  • Partner with FlowAI to develop AI‑driven capabilities with clear customer value.
  • Align priorities with peer Product Managers and keep Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Support informed about product direction and its rationale.
  • Build data‑backed proposals for investment through the operational planning process.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of product management experience, primarily in B2B SaaS, infrastructure, or developer tools.
  • A track record of owning technical products from strategy through delivery, with clear examples of decisions you made and their outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, authentication (including OAuth, certificates, and mTLS), and versioning.
  • Experience working directly with large enterprise customers, including navigating escalations and competing priorities.
  • Experience making pricing, packaging, or tiering decisions.
  • Clear writing and the ability to translate complex problems into requirements engineers can act on.
  • Curiosity and a demonstrated ability to learn an unfamiliar technical domain.
  • Fluency with AI tools such as Claude for research, analysis, requirements, and prototyping, paired with sound judgment about checking and correcting their output.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform/OpenTofu.
  • Products deployed in on‑premises or hybrid environments.
  • Network automation, configuration management, or compliance.
  • Shipping AI or agent‑based product capabilities.
  • Prior experience in network automation is helpful. We also value candidates who have learned other complex technical domains and can show how they became effective product partners.
