Overview
Position Purpose:

The Senior Product Manager is the accountable owner of a technology platform within ENFRA's portfolio of software products, including AI-powered tools and operational workflow systems. Where the Product Manager executes against a defined roadmap, the Senior Product Manager sets it: identifying which operational workflows are worth transforming, framing the problem, building the case, and driving it through delivery and adoption with minimal direction.

Our users are engineers, analysts, modelers, and field staff working in highly technical domains, and our products are built by software engineers. The Senior Product Manager is comfortable working across both, drawing requirements out of subject matter experts and shaping them into specifications the technology team can build against.

This role partners closely with the product leader for its business area on portfolio strategy, mentors Product Managers and Business Analysts, and is the recognized face of its platform to the teams that use it.

Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the single accountable owner for an assigned platform: set the roadmap, hold decision authority over the backlog, accept or reject delivered work, and answer for the product’s outcomes.
  • Drive both strategic and tactical work independently, from multi-quarter direction down to writing the story.
  • Maintain a discovery runway ahead of the engineering team, so that upcoming work is researched, specified, and ready before it is needed.
  • Develop the UI and UX of roadmap items directly, using AI-assisted design tools to move from concept to interactive prototype quickly, and use those prototypes to validate direction with users before engineering work begins.
  • Hold the separation between forward-looking product decisions and immediate delivery concerns, resisting the pull to be consumed by in-sprint engineering issues at the expense of what comes next.
  • Act as the visible owner of the platform to its users: lead demos, release communications, and recurring user meetings.
  • Lead requirements development end to end (elicitation, analysis, specification, and validation) and raise the standard of requirements quality across the product team.
  • Personally conduct user research and usability testing with technical staff and synthesize findings into decisions.
  • Identify and pitch opportunities to modernize data-heavy operational workflows through AI and application development, including sizing the opportunity and defining success measures.
  • Define and instrument product telemetry, and use adoption and usage data to evaluate whether shipped features changed the workflow they were meant to change.
  • Drive launch, enablement, and adoption, including the internal change management required to move teams off legacy processes.
  • Mentor Product Managers and Business Analysts on discovery techniques, written specifications, and stakeholder communication.
  • Resolve ambiguity and conflicting stakeholder priorities without escalating every decision upward.
  • Collaborate with product, development, engineering, and project teams across the business
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of related experience is required of product management experience, including full ownership of a product or platform rather than individual features.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently across both strategic and tactical work, setting direction and executing on it without close supervision.
  • Hands-on experience running user research and usability testing, and genuine interest in continuing to do so rather than delegating it.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted design tools (for example Claude Design or Magic Patterns) to produce wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes without depending on a dedicated designer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor level of detail and technical depth to the audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit requirements from subject matter experts in a technical discipline outside of software, and translate them into buildable specifications.
  • Experience transforming manual or legacy processes into modern, app-based workflows, including the adoption work that follows launch.
  • Experience delivering AI-powered features or automation (LLM integration, intelligent document processing, workflow automation), with a working understanding of what these systems can and cannot do reliably.
  • Comfort presenting directly to end users, including running demos and fielding unscripted questions about the product.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, including the ability to say no, manage competing priorities, and build credibility with technical users.
  • Strong analytical skills, with comfort working directly in product and operational data.
  • Experience with agile development processes and working closely with engineering teams throughout delivery.
  • Detail oriented, comfortable with multiple concurrent projects in a fast paced environment, and willing to work outside the defined scope when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor' Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering Four years of directly related experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience mentoring or formally leading product managers or business analysts.
  • Experience building and maintaining a design system, or working within one to keep prototypes consistent with an established component library.
  • Experience in the energy-as-a-service sector, energy efficiency, sustainability, AEC, or another engineering-services industry.
  • Working understanding of building systems, energy and sustainability methodologies, or comparable technical domain knowledge.
  • Technical background sufficient to read a data model, follow an API discussion, and reason about system constraints.
