Job description

We Insure is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our founding product team and own the most consequential product bet on our roadmap. We are building a small, high-impact product and engineering organization focused on transforming a landscape of bespoke tools into a connected, immersive, and AI-enabled experience for our agents, sales teams, and service teams.

The primary objective of this role is to lead the effort to scope and implement an end-to-end quoting product that streamlines the workflows of our agents and operators: from intake and data capture through rating, carrier submission, quote comparison, and bind. Today that work is spread across disconnected raters, carrier portals, spreadsheets, and manual re-entry. You will own the strategy, the definition, the delivery, and the business outcome of replacing it.

This is a senior, high-autonomy role for someone who has done this before in property & casualty insurance. We are looking for a product manager who knows the rating and quoting landscape well enough to have opinions on day one, who has shipped consumer-grade software that people genuinely enjoy using, and who treats the success of a launch as personally owned rather than shared. We are also an AI-native product team: every member of the team is expected to use AI tools daily, not occasionally, to draft requirements, synthesize research, analyze data, prototype ideas, and pressure-test their own thinking.

You will work closely with our Head of Technology, Senior Full Stack Engineers, an Associate Product Manager, and stakeholders across Sales, Account Management, Carrier Relations, Service, and FinOps.

Key Responsibilities.

This role is centered around four key areas of responsibility, with a primary focus on the first area listed below.

End-to-End Quoting Product (Primary Objective)
  • Product Ownership: Lead discovery, scoping, sequencing, build, launch, and iteration of a unified quoting experience across our personal and commercial P&C lines of business.
  • Current-State Definition: Map how agents quote today, including every rater, portal, workaround, and re-keyed field, then quantify the time, leakage, and error cost of the status quo.
  • Buy / Build / Integrate Decisions: Evaluate comparative raters, rating engines, carrier APIs, and quoting platforms against building in-house, and bring a clear, evidence-backed recommendation.
  • Carrier & Data Integrations: Partner with Carrier Relations and engineering on carrier connectivity, prefill and third-party data, and the realities of appetite, eligibility, and underwriting rules.
  • Incremental Delivery: Ship in slices rather than a big bang. Get real quoting workflows into agents' hands early and use what you learn to reshape the plan.
  • Business Outcomes: Define and move the metrics that matter: quote cycle time, quotes per agent per day, quote-to-bind conversion, carrier hit ratio, rework and error rates, and agent satisfaction.
  • Roadmap Ownership: Set and defend the roadmap for your product area with a clear articulated thesis for sequencing.
  • User Research: Run research and interviews directly with agents, CSRs, operators, and internal stakeholders, including shadowing them in their day-to-day work.
  • Feedback System of Record: Maintain an AI-queryable source of truth for customer and stakeholder feedback so the team can interrogate the corpus instead of rereading it.
  • Market Awareness: Track insurtech, rating, and quoting developments, including competitive moves, carrier connectivity trends, and emerging AI capabilities, and translate them into decisions.
Definition & Delivery
  • Requirements: Write crisp PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and specs that engineers can build from without guesswork.
  • Sprint Partnership: Work with engineering through the full cycle: clarifying requirements, triaging questions, validating builds, and unblocking the team.
  • Release Readiness: Own QA coordination, data migration, training materials, rollout sequencing, stakeholder communication, and post-launch support.
  • Risk & Dependency Management: Track dependencies, risks, and open decisions transparently so no one is surprised.
Measurement & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Success Metrics: Define metrics before launch, instrument for them, and build the dashboards and reports that track them.
  • Analysis: Pull and analyze product, operational, and business data to answer whether something is working, for whom, and why.
  • Impact Reviews: Lead post-launch reviews covering what shipped, what changed, what we learned, and what we do next.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Serve as the trusted product partner across the business and communicate clearly to audiences from engineers to senior leadership.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor our Associate Product Manager, set the standard for how AI is woven into product work, and collaborate with product peers across other Peak6 brands.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, or equivalent ownership of technology products from discovery through launch and continuous improvement.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. Five or more years is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the property and casualty insurance ecosystem, including carriers, MGAs, wholesalers, agencies, policy lifecycle, lines of business, underwriting, and commission structures.
  • Experience with quoting and rating solutions, including comparative raters, rating engines, agency management systems, carrier portals, APIs, and third party data providers.
  • Proven success delivering consumer facing digital products with a strong focus on user experience and product adoption.
  • Demonstrated ability to own product outcomes from strategy through execution, measuring success based on business results.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using SQL, spreadsheets, and analytics tools to make data driven decisions.
  • Technical understanding of APIs, integrations, data models, and automation. Ability to partner effectively with engineering teams without writing production code.
  • Experience delivering complex, integration heavy software products in collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and nontechnical teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, evolving environment with ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools to improve productivity, research, problem solving, and product development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with quoting, rating, policy administration, or agent facing workflow products.
  • Experience implementing or configuring CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, InsuredMine, or similar solutions.
  • Experience working within a franchise, MGA, or distributed agency model.
  • Experience building AI powered prototypes, automations, or internal tools.
  • Demonstrated experience designing customer centric products that simplify complex workflows.
