Job summary

LONGi Energy Storage seeks an experienced Product Manager to lead the strategy and roadmap for the 3S portfolio (PCS, BMS, EMS) in the North America market, coordinating with R&D, hardware, and software teams to deliver scalable grid-edge solutions.

You will drive lifecycle management, engage with regulators and incentive programs, and align product features with utility-scale and C&I demand. This role demands technical leadership and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in energy storage, power systems, EV, or industrial equipment.
  • Deep technical understanding of power conversion topologies (three-phase, bidirectional), grid interconnection requirements, and relevant North American standards (IEEE 1547, UL 1741, NEC Article 705).
  • Demonstrated experience managing product roadmaps and launching products in the utility-scale or C&I energy storage/solar-plus-storage market.
  • Familiarity with BESS system architecture including BMS hierarchy, DC/AC coupling configurations, and safety certifications (UL 9540, NFPA 855).
  • Understanding of EMS/SCADA architectures and industrial communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, IEC 61850, MQTT).
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize market intelligence, financial data, and customer insights into actionable product decisions.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, and executive stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent technical content to non-technical audiences and present to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the PCS product roadmap for the North America market, aligning with regional regulatory standards (UL, IEEE, NEC, NERC, ANSI) and utility interconnection requirements (IEEE 1547, Rule 21)
  • Define system-level requirements for BESS applications including peak shaving, frequency regulation, black start, and capacity firming in collaboration with system integrators and EPCs
  • Engage with IRA, DOE incentive programs, and FEOC implications to shape product strategy that maximizes customer eligibility and commercial advantage
  • Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer discovery to identify product gaps and growth opportunities in utility-scale, commercial & industrial (C&I), and microgrid segments
  • Collaborate with R&D, hardware engineering, and firmware teams to translate customer requirements into detailed product specifications (power ratings, efficiency curves, grid-forming capabilities, protection schemes)
  • Drive the full product lifecycle from concept through launch, including go-to-market planning, pricing strategy, and sales enablement
  • Manage product positioning against North American competitors
  • Define EMS roadmap for C&I and utility grade applications for North America market
  • Define integration requirements for EMS-to-PCS communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, SunSpec, OCPP) and cloud platform APIs.
  • Partner with the data and analytics team to build product features that enable customers to maximize ROI via automated dispatch, demand response, and wholesale market participation.
  • Engage with system integrators, EPCs, and fleet operators to understand EMS usability, reporting, and remote monitoring need.
  • Develop product strategies for grid-edge applications including virtual power plants (VPP), distributed energy resource management (DERM), and grid-forming inverter deployments.
  • Track evolving interconnection standards, utility tariff structures, and capacity market rules (PJM, CAISO, MISO, ERCOT) to identify product development priorities.
  • Collaborate with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and grid operators to understand evolving grid service requirements and shape product capabilities accordingly.
  • Support development of advanced grid services features: synthetic inertia,voltage/VAR support, droop control, and islanding/resynchronization functionality.
