Job summary

Replit, the agentic software creation platform, seeks a senior software engineer for its Foster City, CA office. You will work on Vision: Product Foundry, building high-risk 0→1 initiatives with lean, autonomous squads.

The role emphasizes ownership, cross-functional leadership, and a fast sprint rhythm. Experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Postgres is valued, along with platform systems and strong product judgment. In-office days Mon, Wed, Fri.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience leading complex projects with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Understanding of the full agentic software development stack, helping coding agents build, test and review correct code.
• Strong product judgment: balance UX, speed, correctness, and long-term maintainability.
• Comfort working in modern web stacks such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, Postgres.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives as an in-house founder, owning technical, product, and launch success.
• Iterate rapidly with 3-week sprints and validate via internal betting table.
• Build and operate platform systems used by other teams.

The 10x Goal: Our purpose is to launch high-risk, full-stack 0→1 initiatives that define and establish entirely new, multi-billion-dollar product categories. We are seeking non-linear growth opportunities, fundamentally aiming to 10x Replit's value and addressable market by proving out unprecedented technical primitives and disruptive Go-To-Market strategies.

Execution Model: High-Agency Founding Teams

• Structure: We operate as a collective of in-house technical founders—not just specialized engineers. Initiatives are run by lean, autonomous squads built for velocity and maximum technical leverage. This model is centered around an Engineer DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) who maintains total ownership over the initiative's technical, product, and launch success, supported by fractional PM and Design resources.
• Cadence: We enforce rapid iteration and rapid market validation via 3-week sprints per initiative. This cadence forces fast deployment, immediate user feedback, and tight alignment with the internal betting table process, mirroring the intensity and speed of a lean startup.

Required skills and experience

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Technical company founding entrepreneurial or high visibility side projects experience preferred but not required
• Understanding of the full agentic software development stack, helping coding agents build, test and review correct code.
• Strong track record leading complex projects with cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience building and operating platform systems that other teams depend on
• Strong product judgment: you can balance UX, speed, correctness, and long-term maintainability
• Comfort working in modern web stacks such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, Postgres

Example Projects You’ll Work On

• Helping Replit Agent build viable alternatives to the world’s most popular SaaS vendors (Data, Decks, Videos, etc)
• Replit Agent becoming a full principal within a large number of third party services (read and write)
• You can use Replit fully within a wide range of chat, agentic and commerce environments

This is a full-time role that can be held from our Foster City, CA office. The role has an in-office requirement of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
