Job summary

Nailor Industries in Cicero, IL, is seeking a Sr Product Engineer to lead design, development, and improvement of products. You will be the technical authority for product lines, driving innovation, cost reduction, and value engineering with cross-functional teams.

You will translate requirements into engineering specs, perform testing and validation, and document changes while staying current with industry trends to push continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4-8 years of experience as a Product Engineer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with CAD software (Preferably Solid Edge) and product testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for assigned product lines.
• Drive product innovation, cost reduction, and value engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to develop and enhance products.
• Analyze product requirements and translate them into engineering specifications.
• Conduct testing and validation of products to ensure performance and reliability and compliance with codes and standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot product issues, implementing effective solutions.
• Support the manufacturing process by providing technical guidance and resolving production challenges.
• Document engineering processes, test results, and product changes.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to drive continuous product improvement.
