Job description

Compensation: $180,000 - $200,000 + equity
Location: Remote, US
The Company

We're working with a high-growth, venture-backed healthcare technology company developing a modern platform for independent care providers. The business is replacing fragmented administrative workflows with connected software, automation, and intuitive products that help providers operate more efficiently and improve access to care.

The Opportunity

This is a high-ownership engineering role at a point where the product and technical foundations are becoming central to the company's next phase of growth. You'll build across the full stack, solve complex workflow challenges, and help shape how an ambitious engineering team uses AI to develop and operate production software.

The Role

As a Senior Product Engineer, you'll own meaningful product capabilities from initial problem discovery through technical design, delivery, and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with Product, Design, and operational stakeholders while taking responsibility for the performance, reliability, and real-world impact of what you build.

What You'll Do
  • Own full-stack product development from problem identification, solution design, and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Build user-facing applications and the backend services, APIs, data models, and integrations that power them.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and operational teams to understand user needs, navigate ambiguous requirements, and make informed product decisions.
  • Develop reliable workflow automation, including state management, validation, routing, notifications, reconciliation, and exception handling.
  • Improve engineering foundations through better testing, CI/CD, observability, code review, and production reliability.
  • Use AI coding agents and modern development tools throughout implementation, testing, debugging, code review, and documentation.
  • Evaluate AI-assisted product capabilities where appropriate, balancing automation opportunities with reliability, auditability, and human oversight.
What You'll Bring
  • Typically 5-7 years of production full-stack engineering experience, or equivalent evidence of significant technical ownership and impact.
  • Strong TypeScript and PostgreSQL expertise, with the ability to work across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Particular strength in backend engineering, data modeling, system design, and building reliable production software.
  • Advanced experience using AI-assisted coding tools and agents as an integral part of day-to-day engineering.
  • Demonstrated ownership of products or features from ambiguous requirements through deployment and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong product judgment, with the ability to understand users, make sensible UX tradeoffs, and collaborate effectively with non-technical teams.
  • Experience working in an early-stage startup, founding engineering environment, or similarly lean, fast-moving team.
What This Role Requires
  • Production full-stack engineering experience with strong TypeScript and PostgreSQL skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own technical delivery, particularly across backend services, APIs, integrations, and production operations.
  • Advanced, practical adoption of AI-assisted development tools, alongside the technical judgment to review, validate, and improve AI-generated work.
  • Proven experience translating ambiguous product or business problems into shipped solutions without relying on detailed specifications.
  • Ability to operate with high autonomy in a fast-moving environment while maintaining sound engineering standards.
  • TypeScript
  • React-based web applications
  • Backend services, APIs, and third-party integrations
  • Workflow automation and orchestration
  • CI/CD, testing, observability, and production monitoring
  • AI coding agents and AI-assisted development tools
Why Join
  • Broad technical ownership: Build across customer experiences, backend systems, integrations, and engineering infrastructure, with significant influence over product and technical decisions.
  • AI-native engineering: Join a team actively adopting new AI development approaches and experimenting with how modern engineering workflows should operate.
  • Meaningful impact and upside: Help build technology that improves how care is delivered, while joining a growing venture-backed company where engineering is central to business success and equity forms part of the package.
