Job summary

Toast is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the Web Experience Design team and shape AI-powered experiences on Toast's marketing site, from chatbots to personalized journeys.

You'll design customer-facing AI features, partner with Web Strategy, Web Engineering, Marketing, and our AI/ML teams to translate complex capabilities into intuitive, human-centered interactions that build trust with prospects throughout their journey.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant product or web design experience, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment.
• Experience designing AI-powered features (chatbots, personalization, etc.) or strong eagerness to grow.
• Solid UI/UX foundation including interaction design, information architecture, and accessibility.
• Comfort working with engineers and real-world technical constraints.
• A portfolio showing user-centered problem solving; bonus for AI interfaces.
• Strong communication and the ability to present decisions to stakeholders.
• Ability to handle ambiguity, take feedback, and iterate quickly.

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Web Experience Design team and help shape the next generation of AI-powered experiences on Toast's marketing website — from intelligent chatbots to personalized visitor journeys.

As a Senior Product Designer on our Web Experience Design team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Web Experience Design, you'll design customer-facing AI features that help prospects find the right information faster, get their questions answered, and feel a more tailored connection to Toast throughout their journey. You'll partner closely with Web Strategy, Web Engineering, Marketing, and our AI/ML partners to bring these experiences to life.

A day in the life (Responsibilities):

• Design and iterate on AI-powered features embedded in Toast's website, including chatbots, conversational interfaces, and dynamic personalization experiences.
• Translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive, human-centered interactions that feel natural and build trust with prospects.
• Partner with Engineering and AI/ML teams to understand model capabilities and constraints, and design within them.
• Design personalization logic and experiences that adapt content, messaging, or layout based on visitor behavior, segment, or intent.
• Prototype and test AI-driven concepts, using data and user feedback to refine interaction patterns pre- and post-launch.
• Collaborate with Web Strategy and Marketing stakeholders to ensure AI experiences align with campaign goals, brand voice, and business priorities.
• Contribute to and help evolve design patterns and guidelines for AI-enabled experiences across the web ecosystem.
• Clearly communicate design rationale, prototypes, and outcomes to your manager and cross-functional partners.

What you'll need to thrive (Requirements):

• 4+ years of relevant product or web design experience, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment.
• Exposure to designing for or with AI-powered features (chatbots, recommendation systems, generative content, personalization engines, etc.) — or strong enthusiasm and aptitude to grow into it.
• Solid foundation in UI/UX principles, including interaction design, information architecture, and accessibility.
• Comfort designing within real-world technical constraints and working closely with engineers to bring ideas to life.
• A portfolio that shows thoughtful, user-centered problem solving — bonus points for conversational, adaptive, or AI-enabled interfaces.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present design decisions to a range of stakeholders.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, take feedback well, and iterate quickly.

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
