Job summary

Discord is seeking a product designer to join the Developer Platform Team. You will craft end-to-end experiences across web, mobile, desktop, and console, partnering with engineers, PMs, researchers, and data scientists to ship high-quality features from concept to launch.

You’ll drive wireframes, prototypes, and pixel-perfect visuals, while contributing to design systems and advocating for data-informed decisions. If you’re passionate about games, community, and creating delightful UX, join us.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading design on central end-to-end consumer products across multiple platforms.
• Experience on B2B/B2B2C products and platforms.
• Expert-level with Figma and high-fidelity prototyping tools; comfortable using AI for prototypes.
• Strong product thinking with ability to translate business requirements into intuitive experiences.
• Mastery of typography, color theory, layout and interaction design with pixel-perfect execution.
• Compelling storytelling across mediums to influence design decisions.
• Strong proactive communication to develop product strategy and roadmaps.
• Desire to understand the 'why' behind the 'how' and leverage data in design decisions.
• Experience contributing to a design system with reusable components.

Responsibilities

• Embed within a product squad and partner with engineers, PMs, researchers, and data scientists to oversee UX from concept to launch and beyond.
• Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and help implement designs to pixel perfection; quality check as built.
• Own craft, execution and production quality for the immediate product team and raise the bar in production through playtesting.
• Influence roadmap with deep understanding of the product space; define how of the product strategy as a thought leader.
• Present designs to team and organization to drive alignment around work.
• Identify gaps or improvements for the design system and contribute patterns across the organization.
• Be an active peer in critiques and contribute to design culture with open feedback.
