Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Product Designer for the Trading Design Team to own design strategy and execution of central equities surfaces. You’ll lead from zero-to-one concepts through production, collaborating with engineering, product management, legal, and leadership to deliver fast, intuitive trading experiences for millions of users.

You will champion AI tooling integration and define scalable design standards while presenting to executives.

On the Trading Design Team, we build highly intuitive, rapid-execution trading interfaces that make investing seamless for millions of retail investors. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be fully accountable for the design strategy and execution of our central equities business line. In this high-visibility individual contributor role, you will lead the evolution of core trading surfaces—such as the order form and ladder chart—from zero-to-one concepts through production. Partnering closely with Engineering, Product Management, Legal, and Design Leadership, you will integrate emerging AI tools into your workflows to build high-precision trading experiences that serve millions of active traders.

Key Responsibilities

• Equities Design Strategy & Execution: Lead end-to-end product design strategy for Robinhood's core equities trading surfaces, creating fast, intuitive, and cohesive execution flows for millions of users.
• Trading Surface Redesign: Evaluate, rethink, and optimize core trading components—including order forms, ladder charts, execution flows, and real-time market data views to improve speed and clarify complex financial data.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner directly with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Legal counsel, and Design Leadership to bring features from initial vision to production launch.
• AI Tooling Integration: Leverage state-of-the-art AI tools within your design and prototyping workflows to explore novel, high-speed user interface patterns.
• Executive Communication & Design Standards: Present design decisions and strategic updates to senior leadership while defining scalable interaction standards across the broader trading ecosystem.

Requirements

Product Design & Craft Depth

• Design Experience: Proven track record designing complex user interfaces and multifaceted digital products, ideally within financial technology, trading platforms, brokerage apps, or complex editing/productivity tools.
• End-to-End Ownership: Demonstrated ability to operate independently, drive projects from zero-to-one, and deliver high-craft results against weekly milestones.
• Systemic Interaction Design: Deep focus on interaction craft, with a proven ability to evaluate how multiple product surfaces work together as a cohesive design system.
• Emerging Tech & Prototyping: Openness to integrating AI tools into daily design workflows and prototyping processes.
• Cross-Functional Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate design decisions to executive and cross-functional audiences.
