Job summary

ClickHouse is seeking a designer who codes to own the Click UI design system. You will work within a solution-focused product team to scale components, wireframes, and visual mockups from system decisions to end-user experiences.

You bring strong visual design and deep Figma expertise, with frontend skills in CSS, React, and TypeScript, and a passion for AI-assisted design and development workflows. Remote-friendly, globally distributed startup culture.

Qualifications

• Strong visual design fundamentals and experience building and maintaining a design system.
• Proven experience designing for complex software applications, ideally in B2B SaaS or developer tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, prototyping, and design systems.
• Frontend engineering skills: you write CSS, React, and TypeScript, and you’re comfortable in a real codebase.
• Experience owning products end to end, working directly with developers and product managers.
• Enthusiasm for AI tools and an active practice of using them in design, engineering, workflows, or all of the above.

Responsibilities

• Own the design system in Figma and the design decisions that determine how components look and feel across the ClickHouse ecosystem.
• Work directly with contributors and consumers of Click UI to improve the system and drive adoption of new and existing components.
• Communicate designs through wireframes, prototypes, and visual mockups, iterating quickly on feedback.
• Partner closely with a product team, including product managers and engineers, as a trusted, embedded collaborator rather than a separate creative function.
• Use AI tools to accelerate your workflow, automate repetitive tasks, and improve both code and design quality.
• Contribute to design feedback sessions with internal and external stakeholders to validate assumptions.
• Advocate for product quality and user experience, even when you have to create the guardrails yourself.
