Job summary

Plaid is seeking an experienced Product Designer to own the design of Plaid’s consumer experiences, a first-party product inside a company known for partner integrations. You’ll be the sole designer on a small, senior team, working with one PM and one engineering lead, and collaborate across the Consumer team to raise the quality bar.

You will take ambiguous problems to shipped, polished detail, crafting pixel-perfect interactions and prototypes, including AI-driven concepts, while championing

Qualifications

• 4+ years creating and shipping consumer digital products across mobile and web.
• Strong visual and interaction craft; attention to detail.
• Experience integrating AI agents into design.
• Excellent verbal and visual presentation with clear design viewpoint.
• Proven ability to influence team decisions and align with business goals.
• Nice to have: ability to ship code or background as design engineer.

Responsibilities

• Own consumer surface design end to end, from problem definition through pixel-level polish.
• Set and hold the visual and interaction quality bar for Plaid's consumer product.
• Partner directly with product and engineering from planning through execution, shaping what gets built.
• Build working prototypes — including with AI agents — to test ideas before committing engineering time.
• Produce high-quality work from wireframes and user flows to pixel-perfect prototypes with delightful interactions.
• Advocate for consumers and for user-centered process across the team.
• Contribute to design culture through collaboration, presenting work, and sharing feedback.
