About Buildout

Buildout is the AI deal engine for CRE brokerages, automating every step from first contact to commission. Trusted by over 50,000 brokers, Buildout powers more profitable deals from lead to close. Learn more at www.buildout.com.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who has a proven track record of shipping thoughtful workflows and experiences curated through rapid user research (qualitative, quantitative, ethnographic) and is able to build trust amongst the team, lead with a vision, drive quality, foster a collaborative environment, and iterate quickly on taking ideas to reality. If you love what you do and want to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment that will challenge you to do your best, then we’d love to meet you. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the growth of Buildout and you can bring your passion for great products to the table everyday.

How You’ll Contribute
  • Design thoughtful user experiences that make the complexities of broker and brokerage operations easy to navigate and understand

  • Help bring new products to market and shape the commercial real estate industry

  • Work closely with Product Managers to help define product vision and strategy and conduct self-managed UX research to discover or validate the impact of a feature you are working on for our customers

  • Be the voice-of-the-customer within your product focus, and clearly communicate your design decisions to stakeholders to help build user empathy throughout the organization

  • Craft useful and usable experiences through diagrams, sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that allow stakeholders to see the user journey through new product features & solutions, then handoff to our software developers and validate that the implementation matches your vision

  • Partner with another designer to co-maintain a high-fidelity interactive prototype that acts as the team's shared source of truth for customer validation, stakeholder alignment, and sales demos. Using Figma alongside AI tooling like Claude Code, you'll turn designed frames into working screens far faster than static prototyping allows. The prototype communicates the experience, not production code.

  • Sync regularly with your design partner to keep the prototype coherent as it grows, aligning on patterns, components, and conventions so it reads as one product with a shared design language.

  • Help us build and maintain relevant personas for your product(s) and leverage research to review them periodically

  • Build confidence for your design vision based on an understanding of the personas and intended outcomes

  • Participate in weekly UX meetings to share ideas and exchange feedback

  • Mentor a small team of UX and Product Designers

  • Take the work, but not yourself, seriously

What Makes a Great Candidate
  • 5+ years of professional experience in UX/UI as a user experience designer or product designer with a strong portfolio of design projects including detailed descriptions of your design process

  • Experience with a SaaS product portfolio and new product introduction

  • Working knowledge of web technologies and their constraints, and a passion for creating complex systems and keeping them well maintained

  • Comfortable building interactive prototypes with AI-assisted tools, or eager to learn. No software development background required.

  • Comfortable leading and assisting in user research activities, design sprints, and workshops

  • Expertise in Figma, and be knowledgeable of UX/UI standards, protocols, and methodologies for both responsive and mobile app design to take incomplete requirements and produce consistent, usable wireframes and high fidelity mockups

  • Comfortable embracing uncertainty and challenging the team with new ideas

  • Experience working in a startup is a plus, but not required

  • Commercial Real Estate experience is a plus, but not required

We know there are great candidates who won’t check all of these boxes, and we also know you might bring important skills that we haven’t considered. If that’s you, don’t hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself.

Location: This is a fully remote role open across most of the US.

Travel: Interviewing, onboarding, and day-to-day work is done remotely, but we do bring the company together annually for an all-company kickoff where travel is expected.

Compensation: The targeted salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000.

Reporting To: George Mountis, our SVP, Product
