Job summary

Zypsy is seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape product strategy for both early-stage and growth-stage startups. You will define user experiences and craft polished interfaces that stand out in competitive markets, owning design from research through delivery.

You will collaborate with founders and cross-functional teams to audit and improve existing products, driving usability, scalability, and design quality in fast-paced, ambiguity-driven environments.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years as a Product Designer in SaaS or digital products.
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end design: research, strategy, UX, UI.
• Deep understanding of interaction, usability, and visual design.
• Experience collaborating with founders and cross-functional teams in lean/agile environments.
• Expertise in Figma and scaling design systems.

As a Senior Product Designer at Zypsy, you’ll work with both early-stage and growth-stage startups to design digital products that are critical to their success. With early-stage founders, you’ll help lead the 0→1 journey — guiding product strategy, shaping user experiences, and designing polished interfaces that stand out in competitive markets. With growth-stage startups, you’ll step into existing products, audit them, and identify opportunities to improve usability, scalability, and overall design quality.

As a Senior Product Designer at Zypsy, you’ll work with both early-stage and growth-stage startups to design digital products that are critical to their success. With early-stage founders, you’ll help lead the 0→1 journey — guiding product strategy, shaping user experiences, and designing polished interfaces that stand out in competitive markets. With growth-stage startups, you’ll step into existing products, audit them, and identify opportunities to improve usability, scalability, and overall design quality.

This role calls for high agency and adaptability. You’ll take ownership, immerse yourself in the product, and develop a deep understanding of the user, founder, and business context. Strong execution is just as important as thoughtful UX strategy: designs should be precise, principled, and crafted with care.

Responsibilities

• Partner with startup founders and teams to define product vision and translate it into design strategy.
• Lead early-stage clients through the 0→1 process: research, concepting, prototyping, and product launch.
• For growth-stage startups, audit existing products to identify gaps and opportunities, then design solutions that drive success.
• Become a power user of each product, developing a deep understanding of users, competitors, and industry context.
• Conduct research (interviews, surveys, usability testing) to uncover insights and inform design direction.
• Design across the spectrum: sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI deliverables.
• Deliver pixel‑perfect designs that are grounded in design principles, with a clear competitive edge.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other creatives to ensure seamless execution.
• Contribute to and evolve Zypsy’s design systems, maintaining consistency, accessibility, and scalability.
• Present work persuasively, building trust with founders, stakeholders, and teammates.
• Thrive in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments where rapid iteration and adaptability are critical.

What we’re looking for

Basic Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience as a Product Designer (or similar role) in SaaS, startups, or digital product teams.
• Proven ability to design for early-growth startups and 0→1 product development.
• Strong portfolio showcasing end‑to‑end process: research, strategy, UX, and pixel‑perfect UI execution.
• Deep understanding of interaction design, usability, and visual design principles.
• Ability to adapt across industries and deliver designs that stand out in competitive markets.
• Experience working closely with founders and cross‑functional teams in lean/agile environments.
• Expertise in Figma, with experience building and scaling design systems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Requirements

• Diploma or degree in UX Design, Graphic Design or related field.
• Familiarity with emerging AI tools to accelerate workflows and explore creative solutions.
• Experience with illustration, animation, or motion design is a plus.
