Job summary

FALCATA is seeking a Senior Product Architect to lead the architecture and technical direction of integrated RF-based solutions for ISR and weapon systems across development, integration, test, and production.

The role requires deep experience in defense/aerospace system architecture, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to coordinate across multiple sites or remote work arrangements. A TOP SECRET DoD clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or applied science (e.g., electrical, mechanical, software, physics, math).
• 12+ years of industry experience in complex systems.
• Deep system-architecture experience in defense/aerospace domains.
• Ability to integrate hardware, software, interfaces and lifecycle constraints.
• Proven track record creating reusable, modular architectures across multiple platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical decision-making and trade studies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET DoD clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain technical architecture for a product line across platforms and sensors.
• Set standards for interfaces, data products, performance assumptions, and design rules.
• Drive reuse across platforms, sensors, and software components.
• Act as the primary technical authority for multi-platform decisions.
• Guide teams to implement product-line capabilities while preserving commonality.
• Coordinate with System Architects to align platform designs with product-line architecture.
• Identify architectural flexibility needed for various sensors, host platforms, and mission packages.
• Lead technical trade studies on modularity, performance, and scalability.
• Help shape roadmaps by prioritizing enabling investments and reducing debt.
• Support proposals with technical strategies to maximize reuse and reduce fragmentation.
• Ensure architecture is realizable, testable, and sustainable with Product Engineering Services.
• Maintain visibility into risks, obsolescence, and divergence across the product line.

FALCATA is currently seeking a Senior Product Architect in Aurora, CO , Arlingto, VA , Huntsville, AL , or remote to lead the architecture and technical direction of integrated RF-based solutions for ummanned ISR and weapon systems across development, integration, test, and production.

Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain the technical architecture for a product line spanning multiple platform integrations.
• Establish common interface standards, data products, performance assumptions, and architectural design rules.
• Drive technical reuse across platforms, sensors, software components, and integration patterns.
• Serve as the primary technical authority for decisions that affect more than one platform or product variant.
• Guide platform teams on how to implement product-line capabilities while preserving commonality where it matters.
• Partner with System Architects and engineering leads to ensure platform-specific designs align with product-line architecture.
• Identify where architectural flexibility is needed to support different sensors, host platforms, autonomy engines, or mission packages.
• Lead technical trade studies related to modularity, common interfaces, performance, scalability, and future growth.
• Help shape roadmaps by identifying enabling architectural investments and technical debt reduction priorities.
• Support proposal and capture activities with technical strategies that maximize reuse and reduce future fragmentation.
• Coordinate with Product Engineering Services to ensure architecture can be implemented, tested, and sustained realistically.
• Maintain visibility into technical risks, obsolescence, and divergence across the product line

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum BS in an engineering discipline (i.e. electrical, mechanical, software, etc.) or applied science (i.e. physics, mathematics)
• Minimum 12 years of experience in industry
• Deep experience in system architecture for complex defense or aerospace systems.
• Ability to think across hardware, software, interfaces, mission behaviors, and lifecycle constraints.
• Demonstrated success creating reusable, modular architectures across more than one platform or product.
• Strong understanding of integrated sensing, mission software, autonomy interfaces, and platform constraints.
• Ability to balance technical elegance with practical implementation, schedule, and cost realities.
• Ability to lead through influence across multiple teams rather than direct line authority alone.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for technical decision-making and trade studies.
• Able to prioritize work and maximize productivity.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET DoD Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with modular open systems approaches, mission systems integration, and platform adaptation.
• Experience in RF systems, EO/IR, autonomy, guidance, navigation, ATR, EW, or similar mission technologies.
• Experience supporting both development and transition to production/sustainment.
• Familiarity with DoD mission systems, interface governance, and verification strategies

In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is $157k-225k year, depending on experience and location.

This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus and may include equity or incentive compensation as part of the total rewards package.
