Description du poste

The Senior Producer is the day-to-day showrunner for PHLgovTV’s flagship original series, including the monthly public affairs roundtable Her Seat at the Table and the weekly neighborhood field magazine. Working under the Executive Producer’s editorial direction, the Senior Producer owns each episode from concept through delivery: research, guest booking, scripting, field and studio producing, edit supervision, and delivery QC. This role carries the largest share of hands-on episode production on the team, is the EP’s deputy on all editorial matters, and provides day-to-day guidance to the Producer and Multiplatform Producer.

Essential Functions
  • Run the episode pipeline for assigned series: story research, episode outlines, rundowns, and scripts, aligned to the Mayor’s five strategic priorities.
  • Book and prepare guests — elected officials, agency leaders, advocates, and residents — including pre-interviews, briefing documents, and interview question development.
  • Produce studio tapings and field shoots: direct day-of logistics, manage run-of-show, coach guests and hosts, and coordinate crew assignments with the Production Technician and Multiplatform Producer.
  • Supervise post-production for assigned episodes: review cuts, give timecoded notes, approve graphics with Creative Services, and deliver broadcast-ready masters to the Channel Administrator on deadline.
  • Coordinate host relationships day-to-day, including scripts, wardrobe/branding standards, and taping schedules for contracted on-camera talent.
  • Produce hearing-adjacent context segments (pre/post-hearing explainers) supporting the Philadelphia Citizen’s Hub.
  • Maintain the episode production tracker (Wrike) and contribute to the monthly KPI dashboard.
  • Ensure every delivered episode meets ADA Title II captioning timelines and PHLgovTV editorial and brand standards.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent story judgment and structural editing instincts for public affairs and documentary-style content.
  • Strong writing: scripts, rundowns, briefing memos, and episode descriptions on deadline.
  • Confident field and studio producing, including directing small crews and managing live-to-tape roundtable formats.
  • Working proficiency with NLE workflows (Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve) sufficient to supervise and, when needed, execute edits.
  • Composure and diplomacy with elected officials, senior City staff, and community members.
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable running multiple episodes in different stages simultaneously.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, film/TV production, or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional video/TV production experience with at least 1 year producing recurring episodic or public affairs content.
  • Experience booking and producing interviews with public officials or public figures preferred.
  • Philadelphia civic knowledge and experience in municipal, PEG, or public media strongly preferred.
