Job description

HUGE* is hiring a Senior Producer to help turn the biggest ideas in science and technology into stories millions of people actually understand.

About HUGE*

At HUGE*, we make optimistic explainer videos about using technology to improve the world. HUGE* is an antidote to the doom-and-gloom tech coverage, helping millions of people see what's possible - because when they see better futures, they help build them. In just 3 years, HUGE* has grown to more than 14 million subscribers and over 3 billion views across platforms. The show is one of the highest quality and fastest growing science and tech TV series in the world.

Our flagship series, HUGE* If True, dives into innovations that could meaningfully shape the future, from humanoid robots at Boston Dynamics, to supersonic planes at NASA, to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, and more.

Our long-form interview series, HUGE* Conversations, features in-depth interviews with the world's most consequential leaders, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, and Nobel Prize-winning CRISPR pioneer Dr. Jennifer Doudna. Episodes routinely become the most-watched interviews ever recorded with those leaders.

Our wildly popular short-form content is published almost every day across YouTube and social platforms. These are thoroughly researched, standalone, produced explainers breaking down complex topics in 60 seconds or less, reaching millions of viewers daily.

We are a small team of hard-working creatives who are 100% bought in on our mission. It's fast-paced, it's fun, and if you think you're a good fit we'd love to hear from you.

Role Type

Full-Time W2

Location

Remote, US-based ONLY

Salary

$100-120k based on experience, plus bonuses

About the Role

We are expanding our hit show HUGE* Conversations, and we're looking for a Senior Producer to help lead that effort. Reporting directly to Cleo Abram, you will own the editorial engine behind the long-form interview series: pitching and finding the guests, building the research that makes those conversations sharper than anything else the guest has ever done, and working closely with the editorial team to shape the finished episode from outline to final cut. You understand the art of an interview is built on visuals and narrative.

HUGE* Conversations will be your focus, but it will not be your only work. You'll produce across all of our verticals, writing and developing shorts and long-form episodes alongside the rest of the producing team. We want someone who is as excited to crack a hard short-form explainer as they are to land a hard-to-book interview. This is a creative producing role, not a field production role.

What You'll Bring to the Team
  • 3+ years of experience in editorial producing for a media company, creator studio, digital publisher or documentary team.
  • Demonstrated ownership of long-form pieces from concept to publication. You can independently drive research, writing and storytelling.
  • Visual explainer expertise. You understand how to translate complex science and technology into clear, compelling, visually driven storytelling. You know that a great explainer is primarily visual, and you can articulate what a viewer needs to see to understand a concept, not simply what they need to hear.
  • Strong scriptwriting and story instincts, with a feel for pacing, structure, and tone in host-driven formats. You can write a first draft that’s a working script. You write fast.
  • Deep research chops. Proven experience building comprehensive research documents, conducting background interviews, and preparing interview questions for high-profile guests.
  • Guest development and outreach skills. Experience pitching, tracking, and coordinating shoots with a production team. You have the strategic instincts of a booker.
  • A genuine feel for the science and tech landscape. You follow the announcements, papers, launches, and people that matter, and you have clear opinions about who we should be talking to and why.
  • Fact-check rigor. You take accuracy personally, across scripts, cuts, animations and archival. You also have experience sourcing archival footage.
  • The ability to move fast when the opportunity presents itself. High-profile guests often say yes on short notice. You can compress months of preparation into days without dropping quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will interface with guests and third-party partners, representing HUGE* with professionalism every time.
  • Comfort in post-production. You can review a cut and give notes that make it sharper, working fluently with editors, animators and other producers.
  • Team player mindset. We are a small, collaborative team. Everyone pitches in, gives notes, brings new ideas to the table, and can handle the fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for optimistic science & technology. Above all, you believe in the HUGE* mission. You believe society needs more optimistic stories about using science and technology to improve the world.
