Job summary

Fervo Energy is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist, Operations to lead sourcing, purchasing, and expediting of spare parts, consumables, equipment, and services for commissioning and ongoing plant operations.

Based in Utah with preferred Milford or Salt Lake City location, the role collaborates across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehouse, and Finance to protect plant availability, improve cost competitiveness, and ensure procurement compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Source and procure spare parts, consumables, chemicals, equipment, and services.

• Manage the full PO lifecycle: quoting, evaluation, negotiation, issuance, expediting, receipt and closeout.
• Monitor orders, communicate delays, and mitigate risks for outages and operations.

• Maintain pricing data, benchmark costs, identify savings and consolidation.
• Coordinate warranty coverage and recovery with suppliers.

Fervo Energy is developing and operating next-generation geothermal assets that deliver reliable, 24/7 carbon-free electricity. As Fervo commissions new facilities and expands its operating portfolio, timely and disciplined operational procurement will be essential to maintaining safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant performance.

The Senior Procurement Specialist, Operations is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and expediting spare parts, consumables, equipment, and services supporting commissioning, maintenance, and plant operations. This role helps protect plant availability while improving cost competitiveness, supplier performance, procurement compliance, and warranty recovery.

The position manages the purchase order lifecycle within Fervo's ERP system and collaborates closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehouse, Finance, Accounts Payable, and suppliers. Based in Utah, the role will be located in Milford (preferred) or Salt Lake City to provide close operational support, strengthen local and regional supplier intelligence, and respond quickly to field requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operational procurement. Source and procure MRO materials, critical spare parts, consumables, chemicals, equipment, repair services, and other operational requirements.
• Requirements review. Review purchase requisitions and technical requirements for completeness, coordinating with Commissioning, Operations and Production to confirm specifications and approve proposed alternatives or cross references.
• Purchase order management. Manage the complete purchase order lifecycle, including quotation, commercial evaluation, negotiation, PO issuance, expediting, receipt, invoice resolution, and closeout within the ERP system.
• Expediting and readiness. Monitor open orders, supplier commitments, and critical delivery dates; proactively communicate delays, risks, and mitigation actions supporting Cape Station commissioning, outages, and routine operations.
• Supplier and buying-channel optimization. Develop qualified local and regional suppliers, preferred-supplier arrangements, catalogs, and blanket purchase orders to improve competition and reduce procurement-card purchasing.
• Pricing and market intelligence. Maintain pricing and purchasing data, benchmark market conditions, monitor key cost drivers, and identify savings, standardization, and supplier-consolidation opportunities.
• Warranty process optimization. Review warranty coverage before replacement purchases and coordinate notifications, repairs, replacements, credits, recoveries, and escalation of disputed or delayed claims.
• Supplier performance. Monitor supplier quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and warranty support; coordinate corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• KPI reporting and analysis. Prepare and analyze metrics covering PO cycle time, competitive-bid compliance, open orders, supplier on-time delivery, emergency purchases, savings, cost avoidance, and warranty recovery; use findings to identify risks and improve processes.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Five or more years of purchasing, procurement, materials management, or supply chain experience in energy, power generation, manufacturing, oil and gas, or a similar industrial environment.
• Experience procuring MRO materials, spare parts, industrial equipment, consumables, repair services, and field services.
• Experience managing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, expediting, supplier performance, and invoice or receiving discrepancies.
• Proficiency with ERP or procurement systems such as SAP or Oracle, along with strong Excel, KPI reporting, and analytical skills.
• Strong commercial judgment, negotiation, organization, communication, and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to manage urgent requirements while maintaining procurement controls.

Preferred

• Experience supporting geothermal, power generation, renewable energy, process plant, or other asset-intensive operations.
• Familiarity with inventory management, warehouse, maintenance management, and material master data processes.
• Experience coordinating equipment warranty claims, supplier corrective actions, repairs, replacements, and credits.
• Familiarity with industrial part specifications, cross-references, obsolescence risks, market benchmarking, Incoterms, and freight coordination.
