Job description

Join us in creating a better way! At eHealth, our mission is to expertly guide consumers through their health insurance and related options when, where, and how they prefer. We’re creating a better way – one that’s transparent and trustworthy for both our consumers externally and our employees internally. Move your career forward while connecting countless people to the life‑changing, quality care they deserve. Our diverse team of innovators supports one another in solving some of the toughest challenges. We’re always on the lookout for creative opportunities to do right by our customers, and each other. Together, we’re creating a better way to work, united by our common passion to make a difference.

The Senior Procurement Specialist is a hands‑on individual contributor who supports eHealth’s Procurement and Strategic Sourcing function. This role independently executes low‑to‑medium‑complexity sourcing projects, manages assigned contract renewals and supplier activities, conducts commercial and spend analysis, and maintains accurate procurement systems, data, dashboards, and workflows. The ideal candidate applies sound judgment within a defined scope, builds strong cross‑functional relationships, manages details effectively, and translates analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.

What you’ll do:
  • Serve as the Procurement contact for assigned business areas and manage procurement requests from intake through completion, clarifying requirements, budget, scope, timing, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Independently execute low‑to‑medium‑complexity sourcing projects and support more complex sourcing events, including RFP and RFQ development, supplier communications, bid analysis, evaluations, and award recommendations.
  • Conduct spend, pricing, utilization, market, benchmarking, total‑cost, and supplier analysis, and translate findings into clear recommendations for Procurement leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Manage assigned contract renewals and related supplier activities, engaging business owners early to assess utilization, demand, notice periods, commercial considerations, and renewal requirements.
  • Coordinate assigned renewals, amendments, order forms, extensions, notices, terminations, signatures, supplier onboarding, supplier records, requisitions, purchase orders, and related follow‑up from intake through completion.
  • Maintain sourcing and contract workflows in Workday Strategic Sourcing, Ironclad, and related systems, ensuring accurate contract repositories, metadata, trackers, dashboards, reporting, and workflow status.
  • Analyze spend, usage, pricing, rates, volumes, and service levels to identify savings, cost avoidance, consolidation, and leakage‑recovery opportunities; support tracking of forecasted, annualized, committed, and realized savings with Finance.
  • Support supplier negotiations, contract administration, supplier performance activities, risk reviews, escalations, and remediation in coordination with Procurement leadership and cross‑functional partners.
  • Identify and support process‑improvement opportunities across procurement workflows, controls, templates, reporting, data quality, and automation.
  • Operate as a strong individual contributor, exercising independent judgment within defined scope and escalating higher‑complexity commercial, contractual, or strategic decisions to Procurement leadership.
  • Supplier negotiations, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional partnership
  • Strong project management, organization, problem‑solving, and attention to detail
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, Information Security, Privacy, HR, Marketing, Operations, and other stakeholders to complete procurement activities and resolve issues within assigned scope.
Who you are:
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • You have three or more years of procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management, vendor management, or related analytical experience
  • You have experience managing sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, contract administration, and stakeholder communications
  • You have strong analytical, financial, problem‑solving, project management, and organizational skills
  • You have the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment
  • You have effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and procurement‑related reporting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting a centralized or developing enterprise Procurement organization
  • Experience sourcing technology, SaaS, cloud, professional services, marketing, HR, or operational spend
  • Experience with Workday Strategic Sourcing, Ironclad, Coupa, Ariba, or similar procurement technologies
  • Knowledge of supplier risk, privacy, security, and compliance review processes
  • Experience with spend analysis, commercial benchmarking, utilization reviews, and savings tracking
  • Healthcare industry experience or familiarity with healthcare contracting requirements
  • Process improvement, workflow automation, or procurement reporting experience
What we offer:
  • Generous benefits include medical, dental and vision beginning on your first day of employment
  • 401K with matching
  • Tuition reimbursement
