Job summary

MC Dean is seeking a Senior Purchasing Agent to support its growing defense-focused programs. The role involves serving as a key liaison between Procurement and internal stakeholders, managing high-visibility projects, and driving procurement from bidding through post-award implementation.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree plus nine years of related experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between Procurement team and internal stakeholders including Executive Team, Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing.

• Procurement planning during bidding and post-award implementation.
• Understand contracts, BOMs, and specifications; develop comprehensive RFPs; analyze quotes and establish vendor matrix.
• Negotiate and finalize agreements; develop procurement plans; transfer knowledge to project teams.

Job description

Overview As a Senior Purchasing Agent supporting MC Dean's growing businesses, your role will include:

• Functioning as a key liaison between the Procurement team and internal stakeholders including MC Dean's Executive Team, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing.
• Working closely with the core Program/Project teams to manage high visibility and high value programs, applying program/project management skills to assure the timely and efficient execution of MC Dean's portfolio of projects. Your responsibilities will include:
• Procurement planning during the bidding phase
• Understanding contract specifications and bills of material
• Sourcing, identifying, and prequalifying vendors Developing comprehensive RFP's
• Analyzing multiple quotes (scope leveling) Vendor Matrix ; working with project and engineering team to confirm completeness of scope of service and supply
• Negotiating and finalizing agreements
• Developing the Procurement Plan
• Post award, managing plan implementation
• Post award procurement planning and implementation on major projects and programs,
• Transferring bid phase documents and knowledge to the project team
• Engaging with the project team on procurement planning & implementation
• Capturing and communicating market intelligence across projects & programs
• Understanding, evaluating, and incorporating current market conditions into procurement plans, including but not limited to:
• Pricing trends
• Lead times and logistical requirements
• Best value opportunities
• Alternative products opportunities (Material cost/Labor savings)
• Evolving contract compliance requirements
• Reading, understanding, and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
• Traveling to project sites, manufacturers, and vendor as needed Required Qualifications:
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree plus 9 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance with the federal government.
• Relevant Purchasing experience sourcing, negotiating contracts with Original Equipment Manufacturers, construction /specialty trade subcontractors and fabricators.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting principles. Abilities:
