Job summary

STR is seeking a Temporary Senior Procurement Administrator to join our Contracts & Supply Chain team, supporting mission-critical defense and government programs. The assignment is expected to last approximately 3.5 months.

You will lead procurement operations, collaborate with Programs, Finance, Contracts, and Engineering, and apply your knowledge of FAR/DFARS to ensure compliant, efficient processes that drive program success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree + 5 years federal procurement experience (or Master’s + 3 years).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (US citizenship required).
  • Experience with FAR, DFARS, and agency regulations; ability to apply policies in context.
  • Knowledge of ITAR/EAR export controls and counterfeit parts prevention.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full procurement lifecycle from planning to closeout per FAR/DFARS.
  • Collaborate with Programs, Finance, Contracts, and Engineering to meet requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to support objectives.
  • Conduct market research, supplier qualification, source selection, and cost/price reasonableness.
  • Use purchasing and ERP systems to create and manage purchase orders and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain procurement documentation per FAR, DFARS, and company policies.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency in Contracts and Supply Chain.

Job description

Are you a skilled federal procurement professional with sharp critical thinking and problem-solving abilities? STR is seeking an experienced Temporary Senior Procurement Administrator to join our Contracts & Supply Chain team, supporting mission-critical defense and government programs. We anticipate this assignment to last approximately 3.5 months.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead with Purpose: Spearhead strategic procurement operations that support high-priority defense and government initiatives.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Programs, Finance, Contracts, and Engineering to understand requirements, align procurement activities with program requirements and schedule to deliver solutions that drive mission success.
  • Be the Go-To Expert: Tackle complex supply chain challenges for the DoW and Intelligence Community, providing deep expertise and innovative solutions.
  • Strategically Partner: Align with program teams and Contracts & Supply Chain leadership to develop and present strategic sourcing plans, including supplier selection, risk assessments, and performance reviews.
  • Apply Critical Thinking: Use your analytical skills and resourcefulness to identify risks, resolve complex issues, and develop creative, compliant solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle from planning through closeout in accordance with company policies, FAR, and DFARS.
  • Work closely with business, technical, and functional stakeholders to support business growth objectives and strong program performance.
  • Develop and maintain effective external relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to support program objectives and strengthen STR’s business partnerships.
  • Conduct market research, supplier qualification, source selection, and cost/price reasonableness evaluations.
  • Utilize purchasing and ERP systems to create and manage purchase orders and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and complete procurement files and documentation in compliance with FAR, DFARS, and company requirements.
  • Experience using AI‑enabled tools and a strong willingness to learn and apply AI to drive efficiency and improve quality and effectiveness in Contracts and Supply Chain processes.
  • Recommend and help implement process improvements to scale and optimize procurement activities and practices.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers, partners, and stakeholders; respond promptly to inquiries regarding order status, changes, and returns.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of Federal procurement, purchasing, or contracting experience (or Master's degree + 3 years)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (for which US Citizenship is required)
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiations and supplier management.
  • Experience with FAR, DFARS, and agency‑specific regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply federal acquisition policies in context.
  • Knowledge of ITAR/EAR export controls and counterfeit parts prevention practices.
  • Collaborative, self‑motivated, and efficient, with strong business judgment and analytical skills; interest in optimizing procurement and contracting practices while maintaining compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with customers, partners, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Willingness to expand expertise across other areas of Supply Chain as well as Contracts.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $93,000.00 - $117,000.00

The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
