Job summary

Grey Search + Strategy is seeking a Senior Process Engineer in Madison, WI to lead projects from concept to installation, setup, commissioning, and post-project documentation. You will act as a trusted advisor, managing customer relationships and driving project success across engineering and design efforts.

You will mentor a team of engineers, collaborate with mechanical design, and coordinate resources to deliver high-quality solutions while meeting scope and budget requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of eight years of relevant experience; experience in metal fabrication/plumbing/pipefitting is preferred.
• Knowledge of heat and mass transfer relative to basic liquid processing.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to sell and negotiate.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent design system; experience in 3-D modeling is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Estimate project costs and develop the proposal for the customer.
• Design processes for the customer’s needs to improve production rate and efficiency.
• Respond to inbound customer calls for sales, service and support, and utilize resources to fulfill requests.
• Coordinate internal resources and vendors for on-time, in-scope, within-budget delivery.
• Collaborate with mechanical design team for fabricating equipment.
• Manage installation of new processes from scheduling to execution.
• Assist with startup and commissioning of new processes and equipment.
• Understand fluid mechanics as it pertains to liquid piping and storage systems.
• Travel to meetings at customer sites and product meetings.
• Mentor, manage, and develop a team of engineers.

About the Role

The senior process engineer is responsible sales, design and project management expertise and see each project through from concept to install, setup, commissioning, and post project documentation. This role acts as a trusted advisor to customers and is responsible for custome

Responsibilities

• Design processes for the customer's needs, ideally increasing production rate, volumes, efficiency, etc. per project plan
• Respond to inbound customer calls for sales, service and support, and utilize inside sales and service resources to fulfill requests
• Coordinating internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of projects, ensuring that all projects are deliveredon-time, within scope and within budget
• Collaborate with the mechanical design team for fabricating new equipment
• Manage the installation of new processes from scheduling resources to ensuring the installation is proceeding as planned
• Assist with start-up and commissioning of new processes and equipment
• Understanding fundamental fluid mechanics as it pertains to liquid piping and storage systems
• Travel to meetings for sales and support including, but not limited to customer sites, sales meetings and product meetings
• Mentor, manage, and develop a team of engineers
