Job summary

BG Workforce Solutions is seeking a Process Metallurgist to own material processing and heat-treatment operations in an advanced manufacturing environment in Honolulu. The role selects, develops, validates, and troubleshoots thermal processes across alloys, product forms, starting conditions, and final-property requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or closely related discipline with metallurgy coursework.
• 5+ years of professional metallurgy/heat-treatment experience with process ownership.
• Working knowledge of heat-treatment principles and industrial furnaces.
• Ability to interpret specifications and material certifications against final conditions.
• Experience investigating nonconforming material and writing corrective actions.
• Comfortable on the manufacturing floor guiding operators and cross-functional teams.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Secret clearance (DoD requirements).

Responsibilities

• Select and develop heat-treatment and thermal processes to meet final properties.
• Set and verify furnace parameters, temperatures, timings, and cooling methods.
• Account for material history and its effect on microstructure and properties.
• Verify results through testing and metallography; document criteria and condition.
• Own furnace capability and process control per AMS 2750 requirements.
• Investigate process failures, identify root causes, and issue corrective actions.
• Write procedures, train operators, and support audits and maintenance.
• Maintain complete processing records and traceability.
