Job summary

Lonza in Vacaville, CA is seeking a Process Mechanic for a fully site-based role. You will maximize equipment availability by performing preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs, with 24/7 support from Process Maintenance.

You will read piping and instrumentation drawings, operate tools safely, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Technology, and Engineering to ensure mechanical systems meet GMP standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong understanding of industrial process maintenance and systems, refrigeration experience preferred.
• CMMS experience is required; SAP experience preferred.
• Experience with calibration management programs and GMP environments preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Timely execution of tasks and work orders with appropriate documentation per SOPs and policies.
• Safe operation of tools and shop equipment; work at heights with fall protection.
• Confined Space Entry in accordance with laws and policies.
• Ability to read and understand piping and instrumentation drawings; consult technical manuals.
• Maintain basic computer skills; use CMMS and standard Word/Excel applications.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Technology, and Engineering to ensure equipment performance.
• Train other mechanics and participate in multidisciplinary project teams.

Job description

Location: Vacaville, CA This is a fully site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

The primary responsibility of a Process Mechanic is to maximize equipment availability for processing by safely maintaining equipment through Preventive and Corrective maintenance and repairs. In support of these activities, Process Maintenance provides personnel 24/7 support for maintenance, discrepancy response, contractor oversight, vendor resource management, project support and training. All Process Mechanics are trained to perform routine maintenance in the primary manufacturing support areas and Materials Management, Quality Control Labs, and Utility Operations.

What you get

The full-time base annual salary for this position is expected to range between $61,500 to $102,500.

Shift: Day Shift : 6:00am - 6:30pm OR Night Shift: 6:00pm - 6:30am

What you will do

• Timely execution of tasks and work orders with appropriate documentation according to Standard Operating Procedures, applicable standards, guidelines, practices, and policies.
• Safe operation of tools and shop equipment, and safe execution of work in the field; working at heights using fall protection and work positioners.
• Confined Space Entry in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
• Ability to read and understand piping and instrumentation drawings, and technical manuals.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to utilize corporate intranet and applications, CMMS, and standard word processing and spreadsheet programs (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
• Interact and communicate appropriately with Manufacturing, Quality, Technology, and Engineering to ensure satisfactory performance of mechanical systems.
• Train other mechanics in group and individual settings on qualified tasks; represent Process Maintenance on multidisciplinary project teams.

What we are looking for

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Strong understanding of industrial process maintenance and systems preferably with refrigeration experience.
• Uses ability as a skilled specialist in accordance with company policies and procedures to complete complex assignments within defined parameters.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodations.
• Experienced in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and calibration management programs; SAP experience preferred.
• Experience working in a GMP regulated environment is preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
