Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Principal Process Engineer for Upstream/Downstream operations to join the Facilities & Engineering group. You will design, build, commission, and qualify new equipment, lead technical projects, and ensure manufacturing processes meet GMP standards while guiding a team of engineers.

The role involves collaboration with global engineering, site readiness, and 24/7 operation support, with up to 10% travel. A strong engineering background and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of engineering experience.
• Masters degree and 4 years of engineering experience.
• Bachelors degree and 6 years of engineering experience.
• Associates degree and 10 years of engineering experience.
• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of engineering experience.
• 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Responsibilities

• Lead technical projects and drive innovation in product design.
• Design, build, commission, and qualify new equipment and systems.
• Ensure GMP/regulatory compliance and on-time project delivery.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Lead root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Support 24/7 manufacturing and facility operations.
• Travel up to 10% domestically/internationally.
