Qualifications

  • Strong project management, analytical and communication skills.
  • Advanced understanding of statistical analysis tools and software.
  • Experience with nonwoven processes (Spunbond and Meltblown).
  • Experience supporting marketing/sales of nonwoven materials or finished products.
  • Knowledge of FDA Design Control and Process Validation regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to interact with health care professionals and nonwoven customers.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (≤25%).

Responsibilities

  • Lead workstreams of complex projects or act as primary leader for mid-size to large projects.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Supply.
  • Schedule and support machine trials to produce sample materials.
  • Conduct statistical analysis of test data for internal and customer communications.
  • Translate customer requirements into product and market specifications.
  • Mentor junior engineers and potentially supervise technicians or interns.
  • Draft trial plans and provide on-site support for manufacturing trials.
  • Document IP and ensure compliance with design controls.

Senior Process Engineer (Non-Woven Material)

Type: Direct Hire - W2 (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY will be considered)

Pay: Negotiable depending on direct NONWOVEN Fabric/Material experience - $125k/yr with 10% annual bonus

Job Summary

This position will perform Nonwoven Material Development & Sustaining activities related to the Global Products & Healthcare Services Portfolio. This position will require candidate to be well versed in Spunbond and Meltblown processes and related materials to meet demand from external customers. Role will require assessment of customer needs and capabilities of the manufacturing facility to produce sample materials for customer evaluation. Requires collaboration with technical and engineering teams to schedule and support machine trials to produce sample materials. Also responsible for statistical analysis of test data for internal as well as customer communications. The job requires working collaboratively with cross functional teams including Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Supply.

Core Responsibilities
  • Typically leads workstreams of complex projects or is the primary leader for mid-size to large projects
  • Works independently with minimal level of guidance from more senior engineers and management
  • Understands a wide range of technical principles, theories and techniques applied to design and manufacturing; incorporates leading-edge thinking into projects and plans
  • Deals with change and ambiguity on projects by proposing options that result in potential solutions
  • Makes technical decisions with minimal assistance; seeks assistance as appropriate from Team Leader or senior members of the team.
  • Consistent ability to make sound decisions under pressure while aligning with cross-functional team members
  • Demonstrates experience in executing product changes regulated by design control; can translate customer requirements into valid table market requirements and verifiable product requirements; interacts with clinicians to gain feedback on existing products and identify possible improvements
  • Provide mentoring and work direction to lower-level engineers
  • Mentor’s peers to improve their skills and outcomes within R&D in a specific area of expertise; may supervise/lead technicians, co-ops or interns
  • Draft trial plans and follow-up with on-site support of trial run at manufacturing facility
  • Reviews test protocols and reports for accuracy and completeness and at times generates and analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications
  • Create and document intellectual property according to established company procedures
  • Develops effective schedules with collaboration from cross-functional team and management; independently follows agreed upon path/strategy/priority with minimal follow up or direction; independently makes decisions; obtains appropriate buy-in and ownership of tasks from other groups as needed; plans tasks that have multiple variables and are not well defined and drives necessary decisions
  • When changes result in significant conflicts at a cross-functional team level, develops options and collaborates with team for alignment; secures management support for the resolution
Qualifying Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science related field.
  • 10 years’ experience or equivalent balance of Education/Experience
  • The candidate should have strong project management, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to work well with a diverse group of teammates
  • Advanced understanding of statistical analysis tools and software
  • Previous industry experience working with nonwovens process’s related to Spunbond and Meltblown materials.
  • Experience supporting marketing/sales of nonwoven materials or finished products
  • Knowledge of Quality System Regulations (Design Control and Process Validation) compliant with the FDA and other regulatory agencies
  • Previous experience resolving technical issues and implementing solutions
  • Ability to interface effectively with health care professionals and non-woven customers
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (must have the ability to obtain a passport) Less than 25%.
