Job summary

Sharpe Engineering & Equipment is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support the design, development, and execution of sanitary process systems for the food & beverage industry. This hands-on expert will take projects from concept through design, equipment specification, installation, and commissioning.

You'll collaborate with clients, internal teams, and vendors to shape process solutions, deliver project results, and uphold Sharpe's standards for quality, safety, and operational

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Chemical, or related) is required.
• 8–10+ years of relevant process engineering experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of sanitary design requirements (3A, USDA, FDA).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (including isometric drawings), Microsoft Office, and process engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout sanitary process systems for food & beverage applications.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, SOPs, and SSOPs.
• Size and specify process equipment, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and utilities.
• Prepare performance specifications and RFQs; coordinate with vendors during equipment selection.
• Identify process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align engineering, project management, and start-up activities.
• Provide field supervision or support during installation, commissioning, and site visits.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
