Job summary

Seasats designs and deploys unmanned surface vessels that operate at sea for months. As we scale production, this role will design and own the manufacturing processes, documentation, and data to turn validated designs into repeatable, high-quality builds in MES.

You’ll work with cross‑functional teams, analyze data, and drive improvements while thriving in a fast-paced startup culture. This in-office role includes stock options and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant process engineering experience in manufacturing/production.
• Experience reading GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Proficient with MES, ERP, and PLM systems to own documentation.
• Strong data analysis using Excel/Power BI/Minitab.

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing processes, operation sequences, and process routings in MES.
• Translate drawings, GD&T and BOMs into clear work instructions and SOPs.
• Identify and implement process controls to verify requirements and design intent.
• Collect and analyze cycle time, yield, and defect data to identify bottlenecks.
• Lead root cause analysis and CAPA on manufacturing non-conformances.
• Own process transition from prototype to NPI to full-rate production with cross‑functional teams.

Role Overview

Seasats designs and deploys unmanned surface vessels that operate at sea for months at a time. As we scale production, this role will design and own the manufacturing processes, documentation, and data that turn a validated design into a repeatable, high-quality build, from process routings and work instructions in our MES, that keep our lines running smoothly. If you’re a process-minded engineer who loves designing the systems and documentation that make production repeatable at scale, this role is for you.

Role Details

• Designing and developing manufacturing processes, operation sequences, and process routings, and maintaining them in our MES
• Translating engineering drawings, GD&T, and BOMs into clear, visual work instructions and standard operating procedures for production
• Identifying and implementing process controls that verify functional requirements and design intent, including methods to screen for potential failure modes
• Collecting and analyzing manufacturing data, such as cycle time, yield, and defect rates, to identify bottlenecks and prioritize continuous improvement
• Leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action on manufacturing and process non-conformances
• Owning process transition from prototype through new product introduction (NPI) to full-rate production, partnering with cross-functional engineering teams

About You

• A Bachelor’s degree or relevant coursework in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of relevant process engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment (aerospace, defense, or maritime industry a plus)
• Skilled at reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
• Comfortable working with MES, ERP, or PLM systems to own process routings and documentation
• Proficient analyzing manufacturing data (Excel, Power BI, Minitab, or similar) to drive decisions
• Comfortable operating in a startup environment where processes may not be fully established, with enthusiasm for helping build solid foundations
• You work quickly, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth culture
• You enjoy sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues, even without formal mentoring or people-management responsibilities
