Job summary

ORAU is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for a partner organization. The selected candidate will work onsite at the Fluor Corporation and support process efficiency, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance across project execution.

The ideal candidate will bring strong process engineering knowledge, analytical skills, and experience with large capital or EPC projects in chemicals, manufacturing, energy, or life sciences sectors.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Pre-employment drug and MVR screening.
  • Ability to obtain DOE security clearance.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local mechanical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct construction document reviews as required.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate process / mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined teams during planning, design and construction phases.
  • Prepare and review calculations and specifications for piping and instrumentation.
  • Diagram (P&ID) development.
  • Demonstrate design experience in mechanical systems and equipment design.
  • Generate and review design/evaluation calculations and specifications.
  • Familiarity with CAD applications.

Overview

ORAU is seeking qualified candidates on behalf of a partner organization for a Senior Process Engineer role. The selected candidate will be employed by ORAU's partner and will perform work onsite at the Fluor Corporation.

The Senior Process Engineer will play a key role in ensuring process efficiency, operational reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout all phases of prject execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in process engineering principles, excellent analytical and probelm-solving abilities, and experience supporting large capital or EPC projects in industries such as chemicals, manufacturing, energy, life sciences, or industrial processing.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct construction document reviews as required
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate process / mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team / design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects including project startup
  • Prepare and review calculations and specifications relating to Piping and Instrumentation
  • Diagram (P&ID) development
  • Demonstrate design experience in areas such as, but not limited to mechanical systems and equipment design
  • Generate and review the accuracy of design / evaluation calculations, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required
Qualifications
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
  • Must have a working knowledge of federal (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design.
