Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates is seeking an experienced R&D/Engineering leader to drive development and deployment of new-technology projects for the Petfood SBU, spanning Cat and Dog formats. You will guide cross-functional teams across Product, Packaging, Pilot Plant, Quality Services and Engineering to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's in Chemical, Food or Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years in R&D/Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Food, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 6+ years in R&D or engineering development.
• Proven creative, value-added, results producer.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Master’s/PH.D. in Chemical, Food or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Six Sigma Training preferred.
• Multi-site working experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage both minor and major capital projects to install scalable equipment in pilot plant and assess scalability.
• Lead test plan development, experimental setup, test execution and data analysis for key process and packaging parameters.
• Develop and deploy scalable process specs with Product Development and Supply Engineering for high-quality, safe products.
• Identify and evaluate innovative processing options based on attribute requirements and feasibility.
• Provide technical support to product development, QS and Supply on new or existing processes.
• Build and maintain networks within Technology, Product Implementation, Packaging, Engineering, QS and Platform Technology teams.
• Lead translation of technology ideas into visual prototypes and working models.
• Provide scalable technology platforms aligned with business strategy.
• Deliver IP for new technology insulation.
