Job summary

Kennedy Jenks in Colorado is seeking a Senior Process Design Engineer to lead complex industrial water and wastewater projects, directing multidisciplinary delivery teams and guiding design through planning, design, construction, commissioning, and startup.

The ideal candidate holds a Colorado PE license, a Bachelor's or Master's in engineering, and 10 years of relevant experience across mining, metals, pulp and paper, data centers, or similar sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering field.
• 10 years of engineering experience in investigation, planning, design, construction, and commissioning, including relevant consulting experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado.
• Experience applying process design solutions across sectors such as mining and metals, pulp and paper, food and beverage, data centers, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or similar industrial environments.
• Travel to client sites and project locations as needed.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Revit, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design strategy on complex industrial engineering projects, including wastewater facilities engineering and metals finishing.
• Develop and test technical solutions; establish process flow diagrams, mass balances, and bench/pilot testing for complex treatment systems.
• Prepare options analyses and detailed design recommendations balancing performance, cost, constructability, and sustainability.
• Coordinate project delivery across planning, design, construction, commissioning, and startup; align disciplines and client priorities.
• Support scope, schedule, fee development, staffing, and client relationships; explore opportunities with existing clients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and travel to client sites and KJ offices as needed.
