Job summary

Southern Recruiting Solutions, Inc. seeks a seasoned Process Control Engineer to join our chemical plant team in a hands-on role focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated control systems.

Qualifications

Requires at least 6+ years of experience in process control engineering within chemical, petrochemical, or related industries.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
Experience with process safety management and risk assessment methodologies (HAZOP, SIL, SIS) is expected.

Responsibilities

Design and develop control strategies, including P&ID development, loop design, and programming for DCS, PLC, and SIS.
Monitor and analyze process data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization; implement control solutions to improve production rates, reduce energy use, and maintain quality.
Diagnose and resolve control system issues, providing technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance; participate in HAZOP, SIS reviews, and risk assessments.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to implement plant-wide process control improvements.
Oversee routine maintenance, upgrades, and expansion of control systems to keep them up-to-date and reliable.
Develop training materials and train operators and staff on control system operation and troubleshooting; maintain thorough documentation.
